Pieon, just wanted to ask, is it ok if I draw your fursona instead of your persona for our collab? I just found out the reason why I don't draw people on the computer.

Oh! That's fine, I really don't mind. I can always just draw your persona instead if you like. c:
As long as you're comfortable with what you are doing with the image, I'm very happy. <3

I don't really have a persona. X3 feel free to draw either my canine form or my Pichu form, however.

Heey, Nah it's cool, is a really helpful book! But yeh it's quite an advanced one so sometimes it gets a bit confusing haha, hopefully it should help you though.
Sure thats fine, no problem. I'm here to help

Great! Good to hear it
I'm not sure if i told Jim to tell you or not but theres a website called Posemaniacs ([link] ) which displays a different pose every 30-60 seconds and you need to draw them during the time limit as accurate as you can, it really helps because you've got such a short time it forces you to focus on the main parts of the anatomy and pose so then when you come to draw from your imagination you can put the main parts down quickly and then build from that. (Theres an example here of what i mean: [link] ) I suggest leaving it until your more confident with the anatomy first though, but if you do a mixture of both as much as you can you should see a really big difference

Sorry for the late reply, oh gosh my messages are like... in the 100's.
I have heard of that site before, and I intend to use it! It looks really good. I will keep practising on my anatomy and see if I can do that, as you say.
It will be a hard task, but I will get there at some point!
Thank you ever so much, I will add that to the favorates~ c:

JackEavesArt In reply to pieon [2010-02-16 10:16:00 +0000 UTC]

Thats alright, haha yeh it goes crazy when left too long.
Ah yeh, its an amazingly useful website if you use it frequently.
Your very welcome, how is the anatomy going to so anyways?
Let me know if you need anything, that book is really good but i found that it could be a bit confusing, unless that was just me haha.

pieon In reply to JackEavesArt [2010-02-28 08:27:32 +0000 UTC]

Ugh! And again. Tell me about it. DA's crazy when you leave it say like... 2 weeks. ;u;
The anatomy is still not improving in my case, unfortunately as I've not had enough time to draw things, BUT, it will in time. I just have to do drawings piece by piece and not all in one go, although that's what I've been doing for the past few days, rushing the prosess. The book is confusing, but it's because it pays so much attention to detail; it's bound to be confusing. c:
I think the pictures on there are pretty much worth a thousand words. I've found it's helped me a lot on the torso structure! hawhaw

JackEavesArt In reply to pieon [2010-02-28 15:44:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeh i agree, my internet has been playing up the last 3 days and now i've got 1,300 deviations in my inbox since i havn't been able to check them... teaches me to stop watching so many people i guess XD
Ah thats a pity, i agree you should probably just take a bit slower so that you understand it more and then speed up later on so that it gets ingrained.
The best way to improve is to just draw and draw as often as you can, which is a pain with college / school =/
Haha yeh i mainly just took the 'copy the pretty pictures' approach when i was using it, very useful XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pieon In reply to JackEavesArt [2010-02-28 16:54:42 +0000 UTC]

Has it? That's terrible! I hope your internet gets better soon. 1300 Deviations?! Oh gosh, that's so many...! D:
I watch a lot of people too, so we can ride that same boat together, LOL.
I will try and not keep this book for long though, as... that would be bad times, but I will try and take my time with things! Indeed indeed. I doodle constently in my books at school, so much infact the teachers hate me for it. LOL
So I can practice in school time but just not as frequently as I can at home, which is terrible. D:
Copying and then learning is a great way! Specialy if you're new to something. Hawhaw I shall try. xDDD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to pieon [2010-02-28 19:57:55 +0000 UTC]

Yup its kinda crazy, gonna take all day to get through them D:
Haha i have a watch addiction so my list grows faster than i can keep up XD
Nah it's fine, keep it aslong as you need to! I'm trying to do things from memory for a bit anyways. Lmao thats good though, lots of practice :3
I know how you feel, my teachers used to get majorly pissed with the sketches in my books, damn them they dont understand D:
Yes definitly! I learnt most of my 'skills' by copying photographs for a year or 2 XD
Gets kinda boring though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pieon In reply to JackEavesArt [2010-03-02 22:01:31 +0000 UTC]

I bet it does! Laaaag. D:
You have a watch addiction? Oh dear, that doesn't help. ouo But! It's all good since you have so many artists to look by!
There are so many tallented artists like yourself around. c:
And thank you, I will bring it back when ever you need it though, please tell me and I will! Hawhaw
They used to get pissed at you too? Dayng they don't understand do they... they should start drawing themselves and get addticted to it, see how THEY like it. D: LOL
Photographs? I only copy them when I need a background of some sort, even then I bend that a little so it looks like my own work. I've never thought of trying that on subjects before. I'll have a little go!
Boring or not boring, if I learn from it, well what is there to loose~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to pieon [2010-03-02 23:28:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeh thats true, it's good to look at all the great work around here, good source of inspiration.
Aha, theres tonnes of artists better than me on here ;D
Sure, i'll you or Jim know,
Yeah, even my art teachers did lmao they said my sketches weren't 'relevant' but seeing as our GCSE subject was 'Trees' i found myself getting bored a lot XD
XD They should, see how they like it.. >.>
Well yeh its best to use them to try out new techniques and things so that you can focus more on the technique than the anatomy / proportions, or even just using them for pose ideas n things. They are really good if you just need help with a tough pose or something, so that you all get it all right then you can add your personal features to it.
Yup thats true, aslong as you progress then it's all good.

pieon In reply to JackEavesArt [2010-03-11 13:56:55 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry for yet another late reply, I've been SO busy with school work. D:
Looking at the work all around is INDEED a good sorce of insperation~ It gave me my style.
Your art teachers did as well?! Sketches could be relevent for a different project! I'm in dibs with Mr Bennett, about my artwork that I do at home, I'm able to put it in as a seperate project. Not for a whole seperate grade though. D: LOL
You were just drawing TREE's? Oh my, I'm not suprised that you got bored... it would be so irritating. ;n;
I may use them to do just that! I've found myself doodling more of the top half of "Humanoids" and my facial features have gotten better. c:
That book is REALLY good at explaining so many things, I've actually improved much more then I would've without it... I would still be drawing distorted figures. |D;
Now they make sence!
I should post some of my doodles from my books onto DA.
It would be a big file size!

JackEavesArt In reply to pieon [2010-03-11 14:16:25 +0000 UTC]

Haha no problem, i understand how it can get D:
Thats a good deal you got there, we kinda had that when i was doing it GCSE, there was an identity projject where we basicly just had to have things related to ourselves, so i just handed in lots of sketches i did at home
Lmao yup it was soo boring, i spiced mine up as much as i could but it still wasn't too great D:
Sounds good keep practicing them and you get better without even noticing sometimes XD
Ah yeh its really good at telling you things that you normally wouldnt think of when drawing anatomy, a very handy thing
Definitly, i love sketchdumps - i think they show skill a bit more than finished pieces most of the time as they are usually more personal,
lol don't worry about that, most of mine are waaay over the limit because i usually work at around 4000 x 4000 + pixels and forget to downsize them xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pieon In reply to JackEavesArt [2010-03-14 10:46:28 +0000 UTC]

I think it's a good deal too!
Ooooh the identity project is in textiles at the moment; people said to me it was like a thing where if you couldn't do textiles you chose that. But I doubt that's true. ;u; I'd rather do that then what the exam told me to do.
You spiced it up and it still wasn't good? That's really... horrible! I'm sorry you had to go through that. D:
I LOVE doodle dumps, because it looks like I'm working on things when I'm clearly not. |D;
Ahh I kid I kid, I like doodle dumps because that's the only thing I do.
You work at 4,000 by 4,000? D: Oh my god... I'd get LOST! The furthest I've gone to iiiis... I think 2,000 by 1,500 :'D
Downsizing's a pain though, I don't blame you forgetting them. D|

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JackEavesArt In reply to pieon [2010-03-14 12:03:40 +0000 UTC]

Ah okay, its quite an interesting project if you manage to do it.
Yup! Damn them, i'd love to make them draw trees for hours n hours >.<
Thats true! Sketch dumps are awesome, a great way to imrpove aswell :3
Ahah yeh it can be a pain, the way i think of it is the more pixels you have then the more room you have for detail
