I must say Im quite jealous, but jealousy gets you nowhere really.

I've enrolled in a fancy photography course for next year, but Id like to be taking more photos more now. You do any schooling or you all self taught?

I have done two units of photography at university which has helped a fair bit but for the most part it has been self-taught and practice. Also a good camera and lenses go a very long way...

If your serious about photography i definitely recommend investing in some good quality lenses, do your research go into stores ask lots of questions test some lenses out... For a year i have been using the standard kit lens that came with my Canon 400D and i thought it was great/good enough it wasnt untill i got my two new lenses that i realised i was so limited. When i bought my two new lenses a new world opened up in photography.. Amazing what good lenses can do. Be warned though photography is not a cheap hobby.. Prepare to spend big if you want to really make nice photos.

Good luck with it though if you need any other advice id be happy to lend it.

Its funny you should give that advice, coz I actually work in a camera store Wink/Razz so I know how a good lens can make a real difference, b. I've got the same 400D kit and i know that the 18-55 is quite crappy by most photographer's standards, but with the cost of the photography diploma Im going to start at next year its going to be the lens I'll use for now. So I've already spent quite big on the course and I know Im gonna spend bigger as I go :D (Big Grin)
