yeah, i'd quit because i was extremely frustrated about a lot of things that have to do with this site. i check it every so often just to see if there's anything special that the people i'd actually cared about had put up...it's hard to sift through all the other junk.
i might come back someday...lord knows i've been playing with my new camera that i got for my birthday. i might get "the itch" again and start uploading like mad...

A newbie? Me too! I'm glad you are because I've only heard two of AFI's albums and was worried you'd cite some song I didn't know! I love 'the Great Disappointment' too. Reminds me of the cemetary where my Grandfather, Greatgrandmother, and Step Grandmother are. I don't believe I've heard 'total immortal', but I shall seek it out, which album is it on? I love AFI increasingly too. I first heard Girl's not Grey and The Leaving Song, part II and my favourite so far on Sing the Sorrow is Bleed Black and on The art of Drowning I think, morningstar is my favourite. What was the first AFI song you heard?

i think the first time i heard AFI, i was in a friend's car, actually, i wasn't paying much attention, but she said to another friend that was in the car with us that she should listen to this song, and the other girl said, "let me guess, it's AFI." the first girl nodded her head and changed to the AFI CD, and i think it was...either "the leaving song pt. II" or "the great disappointment." i can't remember which. all i remember is that we then listened to some of the hidden tracks, and i really liked it, but i forgot about them until my friend lee said "you really should listen to more of them, they're great."
i think "totalimmortal" was off a really really short one, like an LP or something, i don't know what they call them these days. anyway, look for it, it's really good. basically get anything AFI you can get your hands on, i've yet to be disappointed by them. really amazing stuff.

*laughs* sounds like what me and my friends do sometimes, force each other to listen to different music! At least you got the good stuff, I always have to listen to rap or MSI neither of which I particular fond of. I was so surprised by the hidden tracks, what do you think of the one that's more like a spoken poem than a song? It literally gave me the chills. I've got to find totalimmortal! *crazed look in the eyes* Must find! A short Cd? like a singles thing? Must find as well...right now I'm working on learning all the lyrics to The Art of Drowning...Davey sounds so different but no less beautiful. What's your least favourite band?

i love all the hidden tracks on the album, it's quite nice. i think the spoken word against the piano is either the untitled one or "this time imperfect." i love it. it's beautiful...
a good place to get a list of all the AFI songs you could possibly find is here . that's what i used when i started to find my AFI songs that i have on my PC right now.

least favorite band...hmmm...well, i used to have a problem with the band modest mouse but i'm gradually getting over it, i'm hearing more good stuff about them. i guess...i really hate pop music and rap and country music. i love "harder" stuff, stuff that most girls look at me like i'm insane for...like AFI or a perfect circle or (even) incubus. but my tastes are so varied that i even listen to jeff buckley or the counting crows...as long as it has substance, it makes me insanely happy.
