I like the movie a fair amount. It's a pretty movie and has some beautiful soundtrack and some of the scenes in the movie is so very pretty visually ( i love the white wolf scene and the aurora borealis scenes specifically) .
Even if its not entirely correct in terms of historical facts.
To me in terms of history, the true hero of that would be the dog Togo and his menner, Leonhard Seppala .
