Honestly, as far as the equine photography goes, I think it comes from working with horses since I was a kid. Horses are exactly like people. They each have their own unique personality and way of doing things, and it really shows in their behavior. Some are a little more camera shy, some are really excited to see you whether you have a camera or treats or nothing at all, some are flat-out disinterested. I just try to capture them as I see them. A lot of the shoot I did at Three Chimneys Farm of the 2010 foal crop was just angle play. I've photographed most of the stallions at the same farm on multiple occasions, so I see each shoot with them as a chance to capture a different aspect of each individual horse. Most of my older work was experimental. All the film work I have on here is extremely primitive; they're either proofs or old work from high school wen I was learning how to work with film (and was obsessed with high contrast...). My newer film work is a lot more finished, and mostly portrait work. I'm trying to get my hands on a scanner so I can put it up!
