You mean as regards to religious and political concepts? I don't think I use any formula, I just draw/design and deal with the ensuing shit storm and abuse. Though I'll have a go for you...

(1) Anything and everything is up for mocking, discussion or paraody. If you make exceptions then you may as a well give up.

(2) When people are offended by your work it is their problem and not yours. Their the ones with the problem.

(3) Write an explantion of what you're trying to get across with the poster/design/work in the details section.

(4) People will be abusive, keep your calm, and explain your position clearly and in-depth if you have to. Don't come across as sarcastic or big-headed, you wont win people around that way.

(5)If you find it difficult to reply to what someone has said, then think about it for a while and do some research.

(6) Actually, you should read up on the religion you're going to be criticising, it's good to know something about the ideology before you question and rip it and then someone rips you in the comment box when you don't fully know what you're talking about.

(7) Try to see things from their side of the argument as well as your own, so you have a good idea of where they're coming from. (When you do this you start to think like them and you'll know what their reply will be before they even post. They really that predictable)

(7) You'll want to facepalm a lot, don't, you'll end up with a sore face. ;) (Wink)

Your welcome! I really love art and I'm trying to put together an art contest about Organized Religion Pro and Con. I found your work This-is-religion in the top 512 of a search for "religion". I want to find pieces which give form to feelings about religion which people have but don't see reflected or articulated. I want to find that which engenders greater awareness and community.

If you have any suggestions on how to do this please let me know.

I did! Well, it was a mug rather than a T-shirt. He loved it! It's such a wonderful sentiment. I love my brother, but as we are both adult men it isn't often that we would say we love each other.
