Yes, actually in Iraq. And when I get back to the states in October, I have nothing to look forward to but Texas. Ahh, the joys of being active duty military.

So how's the whole Iraq thing going anyways? I pretty much ignore the news... have we "civilized" them yet? -.-;;

Um, in retrospect, there's nothing wrong with Texas, it just lacks the entertainment available when I lived in Phoenix, and it lacks the simplistic family oriented life I had in Wisconsin. Of course, I'm in Fort Hood, and the town of Killeen is not the best standard by which to judge Texas.
Essentially, it doesn't feel like home. That's my only complaint. I've also got this idea to walk into a buffalo wild wings resteraunt on a day when Texas U is playing, and everyone is in their orange shirts, and I'll be wearing a big purple shirt that says, "FUCK TEXAS" just to piss everyone off.
Yes, I get bored alot.
As far as civilizing Iraq, they're more civilized than we are in alot of ways.
I get to work with some of the locals, because I'm on a detail to guard a group of them that's doing some construction work on our base, and I honestly like a bunch of them. They're cool people, and no different from you or I. That's one of the things that keeps me motivated: A desire to help these people. Even if the U.S. Government is fucking it all up.
Yep. I'm far from a patriotic hero. I'm just a punk that washed up in life and joined the army for the college money.
