It had taken a few minutes of gluing himself to the door while Cream tugged Tailsβs arm, but Charmy managed to keep him from breaking out of the room. At the moment, Tails sat in the middle of the study floor, huddled into a furry ball and shaking his head furiously, denying again and again that Emerl hadnβt been taken over. Cream rubbed his back, failing to sooth him as his fingers picked at his namesakes.
βThere has to be a way to get to him,β Tails repeated. His hands worked their way to his belt and moved through his tools. Perhaps he could unscrew a plate somewhere, disable Emerl for a short while. Or he could pry Emerl open with a hammer, see if he could find where Robotnik tampered with him. But doing so would require dodging his lightning fast attacks.
βTails?β Cream asked, close to his face.
He shushed her and drummed his tails. βGive me a minute. Iβm thinking.β
