I saw Iron Maiden II, which is a very nice piece, but then I saw the architectural stuff. I do arch. design and illustration. Nice to see someone who can draw!! Many professional architects can't draw or design these days...

Thank you for the comment. I have always loved drawing and did actually consider going into animation and illustration before architecture took my complete interest. I looked through your gallery and you have some very inspirational pieces. Would also love to see some of your architecture stuff!

HMMMM how to post the architecture. I'm devoting this Deviant site to illustrations of females. The best architectural stuff I do are detailed pencil studies of intricate "traditional" exclusive homes that I design. Some color stuff too, all watercolor, usually on toned paper. Been doing these for at least 15 years. Send me another e-mail if you want and I'll send a couple...Or maybe I should submit to technical drawings here? hmmm..

it looks wonderful, is there any way i could see it bigger or maybe use it as a wallpaper? i'd never reproduce it, i just want to use it for my own wallpaper because it's so amazing.

Oh, yeah, the waterfall picture. I didnt draw that, but just webcam'ed it because I too am a HUGE fan of that painting. It's gorgeous. You can find the original on DA I believe, if not, then try CGSociety. Search for Waterfall Castle.

it's been cut again... lol that was 4 months ago, I'm sporting the hawk now. I'm working on 4 new paintings right now, all in the same style, I wanna push the boundries on that stuff, its pretty cool I think.
I might have my stuff up at Lotus's Monthly Exposure night, house music + art = my kind of night. and I'm even selling work already... kind of weird, never been into that... but I hate starring at my own shit so... yeah I need money.

That's amazing! I House music + art does sound like an awesome night. Especially painting while listening to the beats. Are you putting your work in any galleries? Your paintings definitely have a lot of potential to be even better, cant wait to see what you come up with next.
I have to see your hair lol, it was so cool back in first year.

yep, i'm not sure on how the english and cannadian system differ though.
After 3rd year we get part 1 and do a year in practice[4th year] go back to university during 5th year then after 6th year we get our part 2 qualification then after two years of working in practice and after a lot of exams we get our part 3 and become fully qualified and certified. How does it work there?

redevilknight In reply to goodbrush [2009-09-13 03:12:32 +0000 UTC]
Wow, that sounds so confusing. It's much easier here I'd say. Theres basically 4 years of undergraduate (bachelors) for architecture, then it's time for graduate (masters) school. Depends on where you take it, it can vary from 2 to 4 years. With a M.arch. degree, you are then certified. Which school in UK are you in?

goodbrush In reply to redevilknight [2009-09-13 15:35:54 +0000 UTC]
ahh that sounds a little like the scottish system.
mmm our 5th and 6th year is a Barch which is the same as the masters your talking about. I think all course are pretty much 8 years from start to final architects registration. We can only become certified after finishing our version of the m.arch then doing 18 months of work and passing law/case studys/exams although it means we can work anywhere except for America because each state has vastly different planning laws.
I'm at Newcastle.
You?

For us, the 18 monthes of work experience/co-op is optional. Some people would want to graduate early lol. The planning laws are always different, that's why being an urban planner is pretty difficult.
I'm studying at Carleton University, in Ottawa.
Btw, do you have a site that has your work and designs? I would love to see some of them.

They are currently updating the newcastle university website, some of my work is going to be on it so i'll send you a link once its up and running.
The most recent project i did was a youth hostel for an industrial area of newcastle. Its a biro pen drawing of the externals [link] , the brickwork externally and internally twisted by 12 degrees per course giving it an undulating external and internal appearance took a long time to come up with the details for it.
I also did this recently which was sketchup and then photoshop just for the hell of it: [link]
There is also a movie i did for a module here: [link]
Urban planning modules are bit of a joke here, its all talk/words and no action. Only takes a year to get a masters.

redevilknight In reply to goodbrush [2009-09-14 23:46:19 +0000 UTC]
Wow, the pen drawing is absolutely amazing! The twisting brick-work must have been hell to draw, kinda reminds me of the "South Asian Human Rights Building" by Anagram Architects in New Delhi.
The photoshop'ing looks intense, its flawless. The lighting is perfect I'd say. The girl in the movie looks pretty eerie, a lot like the girl Ergo Proxy.
Is the project that your working on your thesis? I love your works!
