Hey, thanks for watching.
You have a really beautiful name Rugilė... where is it from? I've never heard it before...
You also seem to be a very talented painter, are you an art student in London?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
reggigird In reply to PoisonGirl-sts [2010-01-04 15:53:27 +0000 UTC]
sure (:
and thanks, my name's from Lithuania. I grew up there. been living in London for over four years now and am about to study art history.. somewhere. the next few months will show where.
I found a link to your account on facebook actually. you'd taken a photo of an acquaintance of mine and I had a look at the rest of the album. photography 2009 I think. loved your stuff. so here I am, watching you (: what you're doing sounds amazing. from your description I mean. enjoying it?

PoisonGirl-sts In reply to reggigird [2010-01-05 03:24:18 +0000 UTC]
You found me through facebook? wow, haha! I didn't really expect anyone other than close friends to bother looking at that album, but that's pretty cool. Which acquaintance was it? Ella or Maya or someone?
Yes, I am enjoying it, but at the same time I'm aching to do my own stuff- y'know? I love the whole team effort thing but I kinda want to put to practice all that I've learnt on my own so I can 'find my voice' and stuff... we are getting to write and direct our own short films this term though so I'm looking forward to that but I want to play around with the cameras on my own accord to experiment, everything we're doing is pretty formal and organized which is how the industry is... but not very creative
My friend is studying Art History at Cambridge next year. Did you do an art foundation year?

Funny, the friend you mentioned who is to go to Cambridge, Flora, is the very acquaintance of mine (: well as far as the fact that we go/she went to the same school. I'm finding out about my Cambridge application today/tomorrow..!
I gather you're no longer 18 then, like it says on dA here, with the year of art foundation and all. I'm finishing year 13 right now, art being one of my highers at IB. That's the only reason for the 'art student' label at the moment. decided to turn to theory for now, but can always stick to practice or come back to it later.. (:
ahh there's so much to explore in photography and film. what a fascinating world you've entered (:

PoisonGirl-sts In reply to reggigird [2010-01-05 23:57:15 +0000 UTC]
haha funny that I mentioned her then I remember her saying she wished she'd taken a foundation year in between I'd recommend it if you want to explore your creativity before you settle in to uni (and it's free if you're british and 18!) I didn't particularly enjoy mine, having said that, as I tackled it all wrong (took it too seriously!) but it opened my eyes to new methods and I met some great people!
It is very fascinating indeed, I'm really glad that I've gone down a route that excites me, no matter how 'risky' a career path.

then I should surround myself more with people such as you that think alike, for if I listen any more to the discouraging opinions of my conservative grandparents and teachers, I will drive myself mad with all these university course and career choice businesses! and I don't want that.
It's snowing (:

Don't listen to them, they want what will bring you 'success' but they don't realize that a successful life is a happy life, not one of wealth :S! Most creative types would rather earn enough to get by but be doing what they love, than to be earning enough to go on glitsy holidays to get away from their horrible jobs and lives grandparents and teachers are programmed to think that maths/science/business is going to guarantee a good career and money, but with the amount of people going to uni these days and trying to get jobs... it's just ridiculous :S
My friend wanted to do Art but her parents wouldn't let her follow her heart... the most creative thing they'd let her do was Architecture, which is a 7 year course! She's a year and a half through and is very near to dropping out. What's more, they're foreign so have to pay £10K a year! All wasted now...! Adults need to trust that what their kids have a passion for will make them happy, and that happiness is everything. Follow your dreams!

and how was I supposed to know that he left! but oh no - Calin&Daniel no more! ): how doo you survive?
just kidding. I'm sure you're just fine (: hope he is too.
erm I haven't been drawing much lately.. actually, since I've taken up art for some serious study at school, I've been doing less of it than before! or not enjoying it as much. school suppresses you.. it does me at least.
but I'm certainly looking forward to your stylish photography. and I'll try to draw something too..
