I agree with some of his points: interdisciplinary work to examine real problems, more interaction between departments, less hyper-specialization, and the abolition of tenure. However, he assumes that learning is inherently a means to an end, and I disagree with that. I find the ideas of web-based theses and departments called "Water" or "Body" a bit suspect.
It's a difficult topic, how academia should relate to the real world.
