Life will always pitch pain and toil in greater %'s than pleasure and ease. Its just physics. The only way to beat the numbers is to enjoy the pain and toil somehow, or at least thats how it seems 'round these parts.

Im not sure about pain but toil? Absolutely. I dont think life is meant to be easy. But toil brings its own pain, doesnt it?

I see a lot of people who think life should all be thornless roses, pillows and rainbows- those kind of expectations lead to a very unhappy life.

Oh 'death of loved ones', 'first relationship', 'realization of humanity's problems' as discussed elsewhere, etc- and thats just emotional pain. Toil-pain in plentitude of course, but life donates in heaps all the myriad forms of pain because (begin opinion) it is adversity that forces us to hone and refine as well as culls the weak or outmoded, therefore the more the better on a genetic perspective- the happiness is there to keep the human from giving up and so, doing little toward species evolution, is kept to a minimum (end opinion). Yes thats a pretty dreary appraisal but I think is accurate from a gene's perspective- genes arent too concerned it seems with aethstetic quality of life.

And yes- the paradigm of success in society is unnaturally soft and gluttonous leading to weakness of character often sociopathy to varied degrees. Its unnerving and not in accord with our nature at its root- pure corrruption.

Back atcha :) (Smile) So did you know who I was the whole time? Im still all tripped out that we randomly started talking and out of LoH context became (imo) friends. That doesnt always happen. Many times chemistry is situation bound, and friendships dont survive the transitions- especially when such divergent opinions are involved.
