I saw a piece you did through a friend's reblog on tumblr. It was a comic depictingΒ Scarlet Briar being comforted by the Pale Tree after death. I broke down and bawled when I read it--it was beautiful. Just wanted to say congrats--you made me cry over a computer game

It was mostly meant to give some sort of closure through a scenario. If it could get some of the hate off scarlet I'm happy. I didn't count on it making so many ppl cry ;w;.

People think Azula is crazy, and while she is socialpathic to no ends, a lot of it stems from unresolved childhood issues with her mother and you're right, all she needed was a hug from her mommy.Β Ursa said she loved her but rarely showed it to her like she did Zuko, helping to create the monster Azula became.Β So I have no love for Ursa but Azula needs more love.Β

At this point, Azula needs more than love. Having seen the incredible acts of insanity, Azula may never be truly well.
This all cant be blamed on the mother, she did what any loving mother would do to save her own flesh and blood.
Perhaps if she had know her daughters inner feelings she would have caught it early and dealt with it.
Things are not always black and white.
Bittersweet is just wishful thinking at the end of the day.

Azula may need more than love now but her insanity could have been caught and controlled when she was a child if her parents had done something about it.Β In the show and comics, you don't really see Ursa spending any real quality time with Azula like she did with Zuko not that Ozai was any better but maybe if she had, Azula's issues might have been prevented.
