That's the style I'm trying to learn now. I haven't posted anything of my attempts yet, I don't think they are good enough to post just yet. IDK if you've seen my art yet, it's not the best, some of it is good.. mainly the anime part of it is. Do you have any good hints as to how I can better my comic style art? Right now it's mainly the anatomy that I'm trying to work on, that and the style of shading that is used. Other than practice lol, I draw almost every day for practice lol. I just don't have anyone around me that can tell me if it's proper or not :/ (sorry for the long response)

growing up in Asia gave me a lot of anime influence...I think I instinctively draw mostly in anime/cartoon style :/

yeah I've browsed through your gallery. I don't mean to be a critic, cause I'm not an expert on it myself, but you're on the right track
I started out tracing before I could draw...and it really helped me getting used to the strokes

I guess the only tip I have when doing shading is to not only have highlights, but also lowlights...it gives a more 3D look to the shading. try giving a thin blank space in every dark edges

I was born in Indonesia...spent my childhood there and in the US. It's weird but I have a cycle of moving every 4 years. mostly still within Indonesia though.

I was raised with Dragonball, Saint Seiya, Thundercats, just to name a few

It's so cool that you were able to live all over the place like that. I wish I would have had the chance to do that my self! Even though my family is from Russia and I speak read and right it, I have never been So are you in Indonesia now or are you state side?

As for cartoons for me it was Thundercats, gargoyles, bugz bunny and the loony toon crew along with some others lol

you'll be surprised, my ex husband left to Iraq when my son was only a yr old didn't come back till he was 2 1/2 and when he seen daddy, he knew it instantly went running right to him yelling 'DADDY!!" As long as who ever he's with shows him pictures and what ever they can of you to him and tell him that, that's daddy, then he should know who you are when you return. At least that's what I did with my son. I had him pointing out pictures of daddy almost every day. (sorry for the long response)
