Indeed I do remember you, hello there! o: How have you been?

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2012-12-29 00:48:23 +0000 UTC]

Eh, haven't been too good, actually. But, that's in the past, and I'm getting over it. How about you? How have you been?

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2012-12-31 09:26:18 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that's a shame, I'm sorry to hear about that. Hopefully things start to look up for you soon! And I've been doing pretty good, a little worse for wear at times, but I'm not complaining. Senior year of high school's about halfway over now! o:

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-01 07:22:13 +0000 UTC]

Enjoy high school while you can, trust me on that. I know all old farts tend to say this, but you're in the best years of your life right now, so don't let them waste away. Cheers, and happy new years!

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-01-03 05:13:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh I know, I'm incredibly excited to be out soon, but it's also incredibly nerve wracking. Happy new year to you as well though!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-03 14:56:37 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, and yeah...just wait until you start college. Nerve wracking isn't quite a strong enough phrase...then again, the first time I went to college it wasn't exactly my choice...and I didn't know I was going to be going until about two weeks before I actually started going. I had to pick my major on the spot, with no warning beforehand. My family is full of sneaky fuckers like that, though.

Oh gosh that's terrible! D: That sucks they did that to you, hopefully you didn't have to go too far away. Oh yeah, college is going to be gnarly though, I can see it now.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-08 21:59:10 +0000 UTC]

You have made me proud. That was the first proper use of the word gnarly that I have seen in quite a few years.

Damn, seriously, that long? Glad to be able to do my part!

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-09 10:56:35 +0000 UTC]

*pat pat* Aye, it's been a while. I've actually heard (and used) the word groovy more often than I have gnarly. Though the main reason for my use of the word groovy has to do with Ashley Williams (Evil Dead, not Mass Effect).

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-01-11 04:00:05 +0000 UTC]

I love that word, I need to use that word more. I've taken up a recent habit of saying jinkies or jeepers whenever I'm surprised about something.

Aahh I'd love to drive a Volkswagon bus, those things are so classy and roomy. Too bad it's not the 60's anymore

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-12 22:13:57 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, I wouldn't like driving a classic VW Bus all that much due to the horribly weak engine in it, but I definitely wouldn't mind having one and swapping out the engine for something better.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-01-21 23:27:01 +0000 UTC]

Aaahh yeah, that's a bother.
*knows absolutely nothing about cars*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-22 06:40:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, if it's a classic VW Bus with the original engine...good luck making it up hills. There are literally lawnmowers with more horsepower than the bus.

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-01-25 06:00:33 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah that doesn't sound very enjoyable at all.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-26 04:36:42 +0000 UTC]

Eh, use google and ebay. You can probably find a much more powerful replacement engine for them for around $450 - $750.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-01-26 05:52:14 +0000 UTC]

Sounds about right, that or Craigslist.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-28 08:57:44 +0000 UTC]

Eh, from all the shit I've heard about Craigslist, I tend to avoid it like the plague.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-01-31 03:58:15 +0000 UTC]

Can't say I've heard too much bash on Craigslist, what kind of things have you heard?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-01-31 14:41:19 +0000 UTC]

Well, apart from it being shady as fuck, there are also a lot of scam artists, not to mention the fact that unlike ebay, you can't exactly get your money back if they sell you an engine that they claim is working but doesn't actually work. Ebay has buyer protection policies, while craigslist doesn't really have anything of the like.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-02-01 02:58:22 +0000 UTC]

Ah okay, yeah I've seen a lot of scammy and shady stuff on Craigslist. That's great about Ebay though with protection policies. Damn, I'll have to update my dad about this, because he's all about Craigslist.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-02-04 05:07:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's not a bad idea. Though I don't see how you can prefer craigslist over ebay even without the former being full of scammers.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-02-05 02:30:53 +0000 UTC]

Well he's using it to look for a car for me, which is why now I'm especially worried about Craigslist. >.>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-02-06 07:58:58 +0000 UTC]

Yep. You're going to need a lot of it. Hey, tell your dad to check craigslist for a "Fuck Ton of Luck". I'm betting there's somebody selling some somewhere on there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-02-08 07:38:42 +0000 UTC]

I don't doubt there is either. I'll see what he says about it haha

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-02-12 16:31:05 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for the late reply, been kinda busy. So how goes the search for the luck?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-02-13 02:18:50 +0000 UTC]

Kinda at a standstill still, he says he looks for things but he never calls or seriously asks people about their offers. I need to kick his butt into gear >.>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-02-13 19:04:05 +0000 UTC]

You have a computer, go on ebay yourself. Then you can check for vehicles in your area, collect the phone numbers, and call them yourself. Then, once you've found one you like, show it to your dad, explain everything to him about it...and tell him how much it is. Since ya know, it tends to flat out say the price on ebay. (unless it is an auction with a reserve, because some people are dicks)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-02-16 11:33:28 +0000 UTC]

I'm just nervous about doing that because he knows more about cars than I do, I know we're both worried about this. I do admit though, I could be doing more on my part, it's not just up to him. Bleh yeah I need to kick my butt into gear as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PhoenixAntichrist In reply to ruttitutti [2013-02-18 13:19:13 +0000 UTC]

Well, look for cars with under 160,000 miles, check the descriptions (ebay has policies against selling items with misleading descriptions), and above all else, stick to your price range. I don't care how sexy that '69 Chevy Camaro is, if you can't afford it, move on. Or save photos of it so that you can day dream about one day owning a bitchin' muscle car, THEN move on.

ruttitutti In reply to PhoenixAntichrist [2013-02-24 01:20:13 +0000 UTC]

whew late reply
Yeah, dad's got a 2k price limit and we've been looking at 1 door Ford Explorers or something along those lines. Not something small to where I won't feel comfortable driving it but nothing super huge to where I'm always afraid to make u-turns either.
