yah ...i understand where you are coming from....i have that problem too..that is why i try to answer as many of the comments that were sent to me most of the time...the sad thing about this place is that most users just post up in DA not because they want to learn..its more like they want to show their wares and how good i am....
i came in here cos i was hoping i could learn from someone thru criticisms or even by looking at works and also when they share about how they made a certain work....but i dont get any...i doubt it's because i am too good cos there is no such a thing especially when it comes to art and design....it fustrates me when i get irresponsible comments like "good shot"..."wow" or even "nice" and some just throw in a cute smiley clapping face.....but i think i need something more constructive than that....but i will still reply all the same...commenting has been so mechanical here becuase there are some that just go around dumping comments like above just to get my page views...pretyt dumb huh?

i hear you. honestly. 
i wish sometimes when i comment on a "popular" person's work that they would answer my comment if i have a question. i mean i do take the time to comment, and whether they agree or not, sometimes it is just curtious to say thanks, or respond to the comment if there is a question. however i know some people that get so much "junk" comments that they just delete everything because they get massive amounts of messages each day. and i understand about that. there are several nice people out there, and there are some rude ones. you learn who they are and then can steer clear if you want. but i think that the nice people here greatly out-weigh the mean ones.
i find it if you ask people in particular for help they are usually more than willing to help you or give you comments. 
if you are looking for someone to help with comments try *Guidance-Counseling unless you have already. there are some good people on there to be paired up with. you get "adopted" and your adopter comments on your pieces.

oh yah..by the way..i have to go thru photoshop to reduce the filesize....i wont do any alterations to it except for file size...and do keep in my mind my lenses arent the one in the 300D pro kit....its also a canon lense....Ultrasonic 28-135mm with IS....

Well, i did spend a hell lot of time into this new found passion of mine..i am not trying to brag...but i only spent five months on photography...but think about it..five months and i an come this first...justifies the time spent right?
Talent plays very little in this field..at least that wat i think....it;s more than shooting nice photos..it's about shooting photos that tell the viewer a story..if best...a story where you are the author..not the subject...
