Hello Sergio,

Amazing work! I would like to include your mastodon (serchio25.deviantart.com/art/M… ) in a cover art I'm preparing for conservation book that is about to be released here in Brazil. I am aware that this image is licensed under Creative Commons  Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 , but I decided to check with you anyway.

Please contact me if you can: araujo.bernardo@yahoo.com.br

Best regards,

Bernardo Araujo

Hola Sergio,

1- What is your valuable opinion about this text?

"machairodus has a longer tail because it was a more cursorial predator compared to Smilodon . Smilodon must have been a skilled ambush cat and had biological adaptations with emphasis on brute force rather than on speed. it must be developed strenght to take down such large and slow animals. so a long tail would not be an advantage."

2- was Machairodus larger than Smilodon? How and why?
3- Did Machairodus and Smilodon live same time and same place with each other? How and why?
4- What is the difference of Machairodus and Smilodon?

my warmest regards from IRAN, Amin

I´m agree with the text.

Machairodus was about the same size range
contemporaries?, yes, but not in the same place
Machairodus hind legs and tail longer. Smilodon bigger sabers and a heavily built body, a "judo fighter".
