Also when I took that photo at uni getting my distinction certificate I never thought the first time I had a photo taken there with you... I'd be wearing clothes receiving awards as a student a year later... I was thinking of our shoot in that image.

Sorry to read about your husband. Nothing I can say can help in this but the loss will get less immediate with time. It will never go away fully though.
We have a hole in our hearts. A special hole that is there to catch the wonders of the world around us. Those wonders fill that hole and complete us, making us whole. The special people in our lives are the best part of that. So long as he is there in your heart he will always be with you.
I wrote this poem over a year ago when my Dad died. It's titled My Hero. I hope it helps you like it helped me.
My Hero
He walks in the shadow of faith,
Sharing his quiet strength,
The gentle guide through our life,
Our tower in this world of strife.
Never given to wrath,
His wisdom guiding our path,
Profound in his faith from above,
My father, who shows such love.
Whatever troubles this world dares,
We know he will always be there,
Even now as The Lord calls him home,
He's here, never leaving us alone.
His example inspires us all,
To family and friends he stands tall,
We know he will still be there,
In our heart we remember his care.
Now when he journeys before,
In our hearts we feel very sore,
This sorrow is not cause he parts,
It's the loss we feel in our hearts.
He is not really gone we can tell,
Because we remember him well,
We need not feel pain in our heart,
Since truly we never will part.
