I write things in all the wrong places... I am stumbling along at this website. If I post this or anything else in your space somewhere it should not be...I'm sorry...I have no control over my fingers. Sorry, your cameras dieing...BUT look at it from a positive perspective..you'll be getting a new one soon. I dropped my Canon 5D Mark II with a pro series lens on last night on cold cement..with a value of over $5000 grand...by the stroke of God loving me it was only damaged on the protective filter...Oh that little protective UV filter cost me over $200.00. If more would have happened you would be able to hear a ladying crying from 60 miles away.

No, this is fine, it goes right to my messages. Thanks for replying.
Oh man! Dropping your camera, lucky you that it was OK! My friend dropped his camera and ruined an over 1200 dollar 1.5 lens! Luckily he had just bought insurance for it and got it replaced some weeks later.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a new camera someday. I've noticed that the pictures on here that I admire for the crystal clarity (no noise) are taken with Canons. What is the aperture of the lens you primarily use?

Still wondering if you are related to any of the France's in Janesville?

More than likely we are related..but I'm not sure something I would have toa sk my Mom.

I had lunch and a long chat with Georgio O'Keefe niece in Hawaii last winter. She was so nice. Of course I wanted to talk about her aunts art work and she told me about about the O'Keefe from SunPrairie etc.. It was sort neat.

oh, you did fine! I can't think 3d very well either.
What classes r u in next? I'm in advanced illustration

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Elvish-Designs In reply to sevymama [2009-12-21 22:27:17 +0000 UTC]

I am not sure but I won't be in class until February because I am going to Haiti on the 1st and will be gone until the 13th.

Is it just me or was this teacher really bad at communicating. Well not bad but lacking in interaction. I was ticked off because he hardly said anything the last few weeks. It's like he depended on everyone else's input. What the heck are we paying him for. Tuition is expensive and I was hoping to get a bit more feed back through out this class. I got 93 and all but he never said why he took points off. No feed back in the grading area what so ever. I am not mad I got points off I'd just like to know what to improve on. *sorry ranting a bit*

sevymama In reply to Elvish-Designs [2009-12-23 06:26:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I was pissed to. I wrote a bad critique for him. I even said something to my student adviser. Yes, we are paying way way too much for a professor like that. What a joke. No comments, no direction. I was pretty mad about no comments even in the gradbook. He could have at least done that. He really needs to be reported
*sigh*, ok...I'm done ranting.

oh, you didn't say what class you are taking next?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Elvish-Designs In reply to sevymama [2009-12-23 22:16:37 +0000 UTC]

I know I was none to happy either. I think it will mean more coming form those of us that actually got a good grade as well. I didn't think about talking to my Adviser about it maybe I should. I just felt like my money was wasted in that class.

My next classes are Design and Technology and Advertising Design, but I will not be in those two until February. I am going to Haiti next month and I will not get home until after classes start.

Thank you for your sweet comment and the favorites. This is the first time I've really dedicated myself to keeping an art journal, and I find I usually want to draw in it the most when I'm having feelings that would normally exert themselves in destructive ways...it's a good alternative. And you're right about the feeling when you finish a page. It gives me the feeling that I've somewhat dealt with my emotions and ended up with something tangible as a product.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

sevymama In reply to pippinsgirl [2009-09-22 05:03:53 +0000 UTC]

oh, you are welcome. I'm sitting here right now painting and writing now. I'm trying something new, new to me anyway. First I write what I want in a fine Sharpie, then I paint over it with watered down watercolors, then I add a layer of oil pastels, then scratch off the oil pastels to reveal the words under it. It keeps my hand occupied anyway.
I found this artist that I thought I'd share with you. I thought you'd might like her stuff. The colors she uses are very inspiring!

It's nice to hear people like my work. And yes, I should probably also put what materials I used - it's mostly Acrylic paint, drawings are mostly charcoal, Soft Pastel, pencil, pen & ink.
