I saw you at Uni!! Still doing assessment? I'm doing a wedding next Saturday and my camera is playing up. I hope I don't have to go out and buy a new one before then... I don't really want to because I heard a rumour that there's a new Canon coming out soon (40d). I don't want to go and buy a 30d if it's gonna get upgraded very soon. And Kayell don't have 30d's to hire out.. Know of anywhere that hires out 30d's?

Ooh haha well I think I'm older. Remember when we were talking about web design I said I'd done a whole degree in IT. I wasn't kidding lol. I sometimes forget you're that much younger than me though. I mean I've gotten used to a lot of people being younger in the course. I think I would have thought you were a bit older had I not known you were Kellie's age straight away.

Yes I saw you too. It was such a funny wavey hello smiley wavey goodbye moment haha. I saw you had Jacky running all kinds of errands for you tsk tsk. My friend Elise (girl I usually work with in commercial) had her final Masters project up on display there and I just came to have a look after she was assessed and we went out for coffee etc afterwards. I picked up some results too. I assumed you were there doing something like that? That was my second or maybe third time back at uni since I finished. I always seem to be wandering around hehe. But I was developing and scanning the previous times.

Do you specifically want a 30D? Kayell have a 10D and then 1Ds. They're so expensive though! What seems to be wrong with your camera? Rather than fork out a fortune to hire one unless you specifically want a 30D for some reason, you could borrow my 20D. I actually used it the other day...it's been a while lol. I tend to shoot film these days. Not that I never use it, but if I'm just shooting for the hell of it I'll opt for a film camera, so I don't bother with my digi much and I'm getting super slack hehe. But yeah I mean there must be a few people you know with 350Ds or whatever, and then you're welcome to my 20D if you're in a pickle.

Yeah there's a fair amount of holidays left so hopefully I do both of them hehe. It's funny, I bought this cheap 35mm slide film off this guy getting rid of all his film. 13 rolls of various Provia 100f, Provia 400f and Velvia 50. He sold me the Provia 100f for $4 a roll, which most people paid like $18 per roll for at the start of the year for commercial! Some even more I think. I think Kellie got stuff off ebay for you and her didn't she? I got some from Hong Kong for about $50 for 5 rolls, but $4 is a hell of a lot cheaper. Anywaaay, I got this cos it was a bargain and I intend to shoot at some stage, but what I really love to shoot is medium format and I wanted to shoot b&w neg so I went out and bought 5 rolls yesterday haha. So I've got milk coming out of every orifice.

Ok so I'm babbling now. Oh and I'll just reply to your Anna comment here hehe. Yah she's quite the model. That was a fun little session we had. I was very pleased with the results. Took a lot of messing about with lighting and I was using lights from two adjoining studios hehe but it was worth it in the end.

Nice work with all that film! Maybe I will have to buy some off of you when I have to do PhotoPrac1B next semester... so not looking forward to it. I only like 35mm film and mainly b+w at that. That's what I first used and I really like some of the results you get, but I don't have time to just play around these days.

The only other thing is, any idea where to get a portable studio backdrop stand for less than $500. Such a rip off for some poles!!!

Heyy sorry I did some of my own disappearing.

So you were able to borrow a camera from uni were you? Is that what you had Jacky helping you find Marian to sign it off for? So how did the job go? I ask about getting equipment cos I have a job this Sunday I'm doing a promo shoot for a band and I need lighting. I don't even have a speedlite so I'm looking to see if I can borrow from uni. I emailed Jacky today but haven't heard back yet. A friend said I could borrow one Speedlite which is great but i'll probably need a few lights and Elinchroms would be great.

As for the portable studio backdrop stand for less than $500. I really don't knooow. Only place I've got something even remotely close to that was Dragon Image. I've never really been shopping for such things though. There are probably places you can order from online for cheaper, although one would think posting might cost a bit. Have you had any luck since your message?
