actually,
many poets and writers have made words up in their works. sure they had the power too: ie their audiences thought their influence outweighed their ego, but hey. Tho thats besides the point, if you do a search on google for the word "perplexion" you will find its used in other dictionaries as well as in religious sites etc. dont forget, [link] isn't the god of words. its just humans writing explanations to words, but they are bound, as humans, to make errors and miss out on the odd word

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

wernstrum [2003-07-18 05:36:17 +0000 UTC]

hmm this is probably the quickest ive ever relied to a comment so woo hoo for me. perplexion is a word: [link]
it is a act of being perplexed. when some one is perplexed they are in perplexion or something

have agreat day

Ha! Of course I'm not a teenager. I'm so old that in my presence, Time herself blushes with the vibrancy of youth.

This has proved difficult since I truly do not believe that poetry should be this much trouble (okay I'm lazy).

No, no no! To quote my good self (from a forum): Sometimes young writers come to poetry with an idealised image of the writing process: in order for it to be "art" it must be "natural"; it must "flow" from one's hand in rivers of blood; it should come from some deep emotional well and gush forth in a cathartic orgasmic spasm of creativity. ...Which, of course, is a Hollywood fantasy. The Great Poets ALMOST NEVER followed such a "method". They WORKED at their art; they CONSTRUCTED literary towers. Their poems were not "natural"; their very essence was artiface.

Radical change of topic:

I just question the motives of some of the persons making the decisions to try these things. Politics and money figure into every charitable cause these days and it sickens me that innocents always pay for the greed of others.

I'm not so sure that the doctors from the Iranian-twins operation are laughing all the way to the bank NOW. And even if they were, it doesn't change the fact that the twins WANTED to have the operation. Should doctors say, "I know you want to have the operation, but you can just get lost because (a) we think its too risky and WE get to make the decisions about YOUR life, and (b) we would make money out of it"? I think that might be more cruel.

I'm pretty sure the Iranian twins CHOSE to try for seperation.

I know that they did chose, I am sure that anyone in the same situation would make the same choice. A friend of mine did the gastric bypass surgery to lose weight, he was told the risk and took it. He was dead 3 months later. Would he have lived if he didn't take the surgery? No one knows but he made the choice because he was given the choice.

I didn't really like the last matrix movie but there was one line that I remember......:
"Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion,
simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest
weakness."

They were given hope and that hope was the reason they did make the decision.

I'm pretty sure the Iranian twins CHOSE to try for seperation. I'm confident the doctors would have explained the risks to them. The responsibility for their choice ultimately lay with them - the twins. Better that they have the choice than be denied it, I think.
