That was very interesting. It makes me recall an individual I saw performing on the streets last week in San Francisco, California. He was playing the violin as well...and while he was no Joshua Bell it was still pleasent. I listened as I hurried by with the group of people I was with, and noticed the meager ammount of cash in the hat he collected his donations in. I had a desire to throw in at least a dollar bill into that hat, but did not speak up, not even after our group hurried by. Thank you for sharing that article with us.

I'm a musician myself (more than an artist, general), but I have a hard time giving money to buskers. It's weird.. I don't understand it.
Perhaps it's because buskers around my city aren't especially talented. Not to say that I am superior and they are thus less deserving of money. But... I feel obliged to reward human achievements more than attempts. At least they're making the effort, more than your average panhandler.. but.. is that enough? Isn't it?

Thanks for your comment a bit ago on my piece 'poly bloom.' You asked if the petals are instanced. I am using polygonal extrusion to uniformly shape the petals in a symmetrical pattern. I am using maya for the modeling and painter for the brushed quality. I really enjoy your photography, the close-up shots are intimate and distinct.

i'm not sure if i'll be down friday night or saturday morning. when i get down, i need to spend a few hours setting up at my new place (assembling furnature, etc). after that.. i'll be free. so.. saturday night and all day sunday, for sure. more than that.. not sure yet.

He seems to think it would be okay for jamming... Kris and I have some ideas to hash out anyways so maybe I will go over saturday day for hashing and then you can come by that night and stay Sunday. Do you need help setting up the apartment? I have a ton of time right now.

SM58 = nice. Very nice. Now, I need about 8 SM57's and we'll be set for a while.
I don't think I'll need help setting up, but I might need assistance transporting amps/guitar/etc. The 58 can be plugged straight into an amp (in a powered input), I suppose. Or, I could bring my i88x and use it as a vocal amp (with the monitor output running to an unpowered input on an amp). The second option would require one less amp, but probably wouldn't sound as good if the vocal amp was also used for my guitar (especially if I'm running a lot of distortion).
I'll bring owen's delay pedal, and my funky GT-6 guitar pedal. Anything else you can think of.. let me know.
