Hey Richard,
haha, so, I tell you and see what you say. It's called
"Secure Two-Party Quantum Computation".
And it's mostly about impossibility of doing unconditionally secure cryptography in the quantum world.

cheers

Hi Mirka -
I do not have a strong science or technology background, but I think I read an article in an international business magazine a year or two ago about security in quantum cryptography being a big area of concern in international business transactions and in international relations. Do that sound right? But I remember that I understood very little of it . . .

That's actually quite true ... but not everything in quantum crypto gets the same interest from the commercial sphere ... not what I'm doing - that's just too theoretical. But e.g. quantum key distribution (secret key-agreement, secure against the third party), yes, or protocols in the bounded storage model (i.e. with the assumption that whoever wants the break the scheme, cannot store photons untouched ... storing them is technologically very very far from being possible), also.
I'm just afraid this is not the best place to explain all that. Better to change the topic

Yes Mirka,
I think that you are right - this is a difficult place to try to have that conversation. Besides, we have already passed the limits of my understanding of the issues! Anyway, clearly, you are a very brilliant young woman, which makes me even happier that I "met" you!

But we can always talk about photography! Right?
Have a great evening, Mirka! I look forward to chatting with you again soon!

Richard
