It seems I have you again for commenting goodness!
I don't know well what to add from my last comment xD
Your art is amazing and I love your style. I know you said you thought your art trade of Ryan wasn't good enough, I personally thought it was fantastic and it reminded me that this otherwise very tragic OC (he has a very rough life) can still smile and enjoy himself in his hobbies.

Time for a late comment for task 6th.
So first off! I look forward to being art trade buddies with you!
One of the first things I noticed when I looked at your art overall was that you're creating your pieces with 2 different styles. I like both, but I can see you had a little bit of a hard time on the first piece (with the semi-realistic coloring/shading) I can tell you right now I completely relate to that as my own style is also making that shift (and it can be hard to see what works and what doesn't). What I also noticed was that the later style is more cartoonish, but I caught the impression that its something you have a little better handle on. The one thing that really fascinates me about Rose is she seems to have her hands busy with a lot of stuff (based on her outfits) and has some kind of connection with the supernatural (seeing as how she was playing with a Garm puppy) and I'm impressed that she wouldn't be afraid of it. I mean, come on, its a talking dog from the underworld that speaks to you in Middle English style font, I would scared.
The one thing I miss, and would like to see improvement on... is the background of your pictures! I know backgrounds and foregrounds and all the other types of grounds are hard, even for me (if you look at my gallery a lot of my pictures don't have one). But I feel that include some kind of background would help your pictures look less rushed.

Heyooo, I'm commenting as a part of OC-training 's 6th task.
First off, I love your Hobbit semi-realism pieces! And just your Hobbit stuff in general.
I love your shading style. It's a little slapdash on some pieces, but you manage to get a lot of detail in. It's clear and just very appealing. You also have soooo many different genres and style examples! I just... I don't know how to go through it all because it's all really good! I don't even know how to critique, because what I would say on one style is fixed in another.
My one critique is that I would like to see more original work from you. Less fan characters or fan art (though I don't fault you for that at all. Marvel and LotR are my favorite things too ahaha). You have a lot of talent and I'd just really like to see you branch into some original stories or art.

Yup! *flails hands excitedly*
It was a road-trip w/two of my highschool friends: Edinburg, Strathpeffer, Inverness, Culloden battle field, Oban, Isle of Mull, Isle of Skye, Glasgow and then we drove down to London (cheaper flights back home + we got to stay at a friend's house)
I'm studying in Poland now, but spend summers w/ parents in the US

My friends and I wer e talking about it ever since highschool and finally were able to save up enough money (plus got awesome deals b/c one of my friend's parents' friend turned out to be a travel agent ) to do it I hope that someday I'll be able to go back and do this again (maybe next time traveling by rail--the petrol prices were god awful) Anyways,it was simply wonderful--one of the most beautiful countries I've evrer been to
Still not sure yet...still torn between staying and doing my residency here and then trying to work in Australia/NZ for a couple of years. That's a dream of mine...and so far that's all it is, but I'm hoping I'll be able to get closer to achieving it in the future
How about you? How's Ireland??

Going by rail would have been beautiful. Please work in NZ. I want you to. I want you to sooo much.
I'm doing a lot better here, Ireland is amazing and my cooking is getting better and I feel better and ughhhh it's amazing.

*nods* Apparently the trainride from Edinburg to Oban is supposed to be quite lovely!! My original plan (the one I came up with right after highschool) had us travel by train the entire way and then rent bicycles on Mull and spend two or so days there and then do the same thing on Skye. Hopefully I'll be able to do that someday...especially as my plan was not that expensive (I'm ok with staying at hostels and camping grounds, but my friends.were not *sighs loudly* )
I really, really want to...actually the more I think about it the more I want to do it. I know it's super hard to get a medical job there...but will.definitely try
Yay! happy to hear you're doing well!! Mmmm cooking and mmm Ireland!! *is a bit jealous*

This is probably weird of me to ask, but do you know of any good horror shoujo/josei anime and manga I can get into? I mean, sure, shounen/seinen series like Monster, When They Cry (Higurashi and Umineko), and Uzumaki are good, but I've noticed something deeper about ones like Hell Girl and Pet Shop of Horrors.
I hope you can forgive me if I'm sounding strange or even sexist in anyway, I really don't mean to! I just don't get out that much...

skart2005 In reply to gdpr-10151684 [2013-07-29 04:16:52 +0000 UTC]
Hello! First of all, sorry for the late response--I'm on bit of a hiatus from DA due to the overall heticness of my summer vacations *sighs*
You're sounding neither strange nor sexist--I have the same problem as I love good horror anime and also found the shoujo ones a bit deeper/more enjoyable
Here is some good ones:
Anime:
Vampire Princess Miyu--preferably the OVA (the later TV series was ok, but lost that delightful eerie chill of the OVA )
Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales--maybe not fully a shoujo (though not shounen either--I dunno what to classify it as XD )but a delightful set of horror stories
Mononoke ---sort of a continuing (though not really) of the above--more shoujo-y
Ghost Hound--same chief of animation as Hell Girl--really creepy--the audio itself is creepy enough XD--sort of a psychological horror story--really, really good!
Mushishi--sort of gender unspecific really good stories--though not fully a horror
Hakouki Shinsengumi Kitan--more of a shoujo drama piece w/horror undertones
These are all I can think of right now (I think I have a list of horror manga on my computer somewhere as well so I'll try to post that too ), if I'll remember more I'll tell you Hope I helped a bit
Also, I love answering questions andΒ being helpful if I can so don't ever feel weird about asking!

Thanks! You've been very helpful!

I remember hearing that Mononoke is actually a spin-off of Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales in case you're still wondering.
Β
PS I would like to know more about Hakouki Shinsengumi Kitan. I'd look it up myself on google, but I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right title.
