I agree with most of this yaoi fangirls essay fangirls get way crazy! And when thhey are excited they tend to well...exagerate...I feel kind saying that. Plus they see the internet not as a way to connect but a way to just put shit up and hope they become famous for it. I also agree with the grammar mistakes (please dont read my fics i wrote them in 4th grade they have horrid grammar) I obsess about this and cannot be happy unless I've spell-checked something atleast 5 times <--obsessive In the end dont think your alone on this there are just people who aren't with you aswell.

I'm a yaoi-fan myself (mostly for the art side instead of the fiction), but I see the same point of view that you do. The whole 'japanese language is great' shit and grammar stuff? Made me laugh because I agree so much with you, who needs that stuff, right?
I never had the guts to spill a rant about it because I feel like I'm one against many and if I tried I'd get a whole load of shit coming my way and the large insanity that will most likely follow will probably put me off yaoi for good

Did you read her comment to the essay? She said she isn't directly flaming anyone, and it's all just an opinion. She asked that everyone pay her the same courtesy, I.E., not directly flame her. Your name wasn't mentioned, your friends' names weren't mentioned, no names were mentioned. Therefore, she wasn't flaming anyone.
Using ^_^ in a story makes no sense, as stories are meant to be descriptive anecdotes. Have you ever seen that in a book? Even if a story was describing a person texting that smilie to a friend, they would describe it as entering in a circumflex accent, an underscore then another circumflex accent, creating a smilie face. You would only type ^_^ if directly quoting something you saw it was written in, never to describe a face being made.
Using Japanese words in a fanfic is one thing, using Romanji is another. Romanji isn't a language, it's the english way of learning Japanese since it uses a different alphabet. Chinese uses Pinyin in order to help us pronounce the characters, yet Pinyin is not a language. This holds true as well for Japanese. Japanese has Hirigana, Katakana and Kanji, all which use characters and symbols. Saying, "O Genk Dosu Ka! Eago nideh" is not Japanese, it's Romanji. If you're going to include Japanese in a fanfic, include the real Japanese. If you absolutely must, add an asterisk to it so the reader can scroll to the bottom and read the transliteration and the definition.
It would be in your best interest to read the artist's comments before commenting at all.
