Bald heads are definitely hard! We're used to drawing heads with hair and looking at heads with hair that we don't think about what's underneath. When you don't know how to draw something, always look at reference. Pull up some pics of bald men. Google "bald man profile" and look at it side-by-side with a picture of a human skull. We don't have a lot of meat on our heads, and without hair in the way, skin will show a lot of the structure underneath. Note that the head it isn't perfectly round, and parts where the slope changes sharply. There's also the contours from the bony protrusion of our brow ridges, and the dip above our cheekbones.Β

do you think his his head is ok? or do i need to work more on the shading to from it more? and anything else that might need more attention to detail?Β Β

His head could use more structure, right now it looks a bit strange against the rest of his body, which has more structural definition. I think though that it's a good idea to try something new with the next thing you do rather than trying to fix this one, because after a certain point you've got to just call it done, or else nothing ever will be (I struggle with this too, which is why I have tons of unfinished projects... sigh >_>). In any case, things like facial features are just blobs of flesh stretched over what's underneath, and the stuff underneath is what defines structure. Without that structure, the stuff on top tend to look like they're just sorta floating there instead of being attached.
The thing that my eyes keep going to though is his left knee (our right). The anatomy of it is pretty off, the shadow there makes it look like there's large dent that shouldn't be there, which sort of results in him looking like he's got a permanent injury there. The knee area is mostly protrusions, with enough bumps that usually you wouldn't see such deep crevices. Near the knee too there isn't usually much flesh or muscle, so you'd mostly see the bony stuff showing under the skin.Β
So you've probably noticed that I talk a lot about the bone structure. xD This is because thinking about that has really helped me with my drawing, since the bones make up the fundamentals, if the fundamentals aren't right, piling things on top won't cover it up, it'll just make things look more off.Β

and I doubt you learned how to draw. It's impossible. Don't forget, you're asian so you have a racial passive advantage with the ability to draw. Those who claim they've learned to draw are just able to draw from the beginning or they just copy tutorials, they'll never be able to be orgional, it is simply just mimicking someone else.

I don't know how many people are watching me, but to all of you - thank you for staying with me! I've been so swamped with work that I haven't been able to draw anything! The worst part is, I have all these things in my mind that I want to finish or to start afresh, and I'd like to learn how to CG at some point... ;_;
On the bright side, I am taking a photography course right now, and I LOVE it. I can easily spend over ten hours in the darkroom perfecting my prints (or at least trying to... I'm still new to it) and I love taking photos. Perhaps I'll post some here, but I'm not sure if people would be interested in them... I think most of you are manga-style artists...
Well it's better than nothing!
