Yes Belgariad and Malloreon are amazing stories. There is a lot of wittiness in the writing and the character's personalities are depth. Ah I get excited each time I talk about it ha ha.

Thanks for the tips!! I did find some great tutorials on here and on youtube. I am really having a lot of fun with it. My brother and boyfriend say that my faces are getting better, so that's always good!!

The key is often the proportions (I'm still working on that). has some great tutorials on anatomy, for ex this [link]

If you draw the same person more than once try to give them characteristic looks, it makes it easier. I usually give my characters a reference-model.

Thank you for your help!!!!!!!!! I have pencil sketches mainly and paintings. I like oil painting the most, but I don't have a scanner. But maybe I can figure something out. This is just so great that there is a website for art!! I never knew it was here, but got directed here from fanfiction.net

There's actually a couple out there, though I think Deviant is the largest of them now days. I've been a member for six years (with a art break for a few years)
I like the fact that here's artists of all types and skills, from professionals to beginners.
I hope you'll find a way to get your art shown, I'd love to see it.

Hey!!!!!!!!! I got some stuff up today! I used my digital camera to take photos of it! Thank you for being so nice and encouraging!! This is really fun!!! Going to attempt some DA fanart. I am terrible with drawing people though, so we will see how it turns out. I would love to do a pic of my favorite warden, who is an elven mage. I have a fanfic about her that I may post eventually.

You have some nice stuff. I especially like the turtle. Do you paint still life or do you take a photo and then use that as a reference? I really like that you use watercolors, that's not so common any more.
I'm currently working on my the fanfiction for my own elven mage Ithildin and (I hope) are soon to be finished.

I'm glad you like some of my art. Some of the drawings are done from photos, the one of my dog as a puppy and the dog from India (in the photo of the Indian dog she is actually standing next to a pile of garbage and the stream is sewage). But most of my stuff I do just by sitting outside. I try to find animals or objects that would be interesting to draw. The frog, deer, hornbill and turtle were real animals that I drew. I really like watercolors and oil painting more than drawing b/c I just love to mix colors up. That's really fun.

It's to bad that you don't have the possibility to scan them, they get a bit foggy when you photograph them, but it's still better than not being able to post at all.
