Hey, you've recently favorited my pic "Electro: Feelin' Fine..." ([link] ). Thanks for the fave.
Seeing as how you're an active Spider-Fan, both reading his books and drawing your own sketches of him, I'm glad you liked this pic so much, especially since you could simply draw your own version that would have turned out MUCH better. Is Electro one of your favorite villains or, like me, do you like trivializing him? In any event, thanks again for the fave.

haha well i suppose i just liked the humour of it really, probably cos its kind of an in joke really which i got instantly cos i knew who he was. I wouldnt say he's my favourite villain i like venom and carnage moreso, but i liked the humour of it mainly. keep it up

Venom, huh? Good stuff. Carnage has always been "the other symbiote" as far as my friends and I were concerned and we always liked Venom more...Still, I miss him now that he's not being used. Apparently he's dead or something. Since death in comics (Spider-Man especially) is rarely permanent, however, hopefully he comes back in a big way.
Glad you liked the pic. I thought it was funny myself. Glad to see I'm not crazy in thinking so. Thanks again for the fave. Now I know if I make any more Spidey pics, I at least have an audience of one. Have you seen my Shocker pic yet? You might get a kick out of that one too.

Just noticed you added me to your Watch. Thanks for that. In return, I added you to mine.
I don't know who's gonna write it but I'm sure when the dust settles on this "Dark Reign" and Osborn gets outta Spidey's hair for a while, Carnage might be the next big thing hitting him. Maybe have a 3-way symbiote brawl with the Venoms and Carnage. It'd be interesting to see what Brock's interactions with Carnage are now that he's "holier-than-thou" and trying to fix all of his mistakes. Gargan, I imagine, wouldn't have much to say to Cletus but the black symbiote would probably have "words" with the red symbiote....Great, now I REALLY wanna see the writers do this. All three characters are interesting and way too big a staple in "Spider-Man" to ignore.
And thanks for checking out my Shocker pic. Glad you like it. He's always been my second favorite Spidey villain so he was a must-do for me.

haha yeah thatd be pretty interesting actually, a 3 way battle. I havent read much of spiderman after dark reign yet, i started but it just seemed real boring, so hopefully they soon get a villain story arc going that is real good hey. haha that was just incase u put out more villain pics haha, and cos its a rare occurance for me to have someone who likes spiderman heaps and actually knows wat there talking bout haha

I haven't been reading much since "Secret Invasion," actually. There's SO many issues now that it's printed thrice monthly. What's worse is that there's a lot of other series I read right now as well. The end result? I have a HUGE pile of comics at home that I haven't read for months...and an even BIGGER pile at my comic shop waiting for me to get them which are, obviously, also unread. I've thought about dropping series to help stay on top...but I like them all so much.
I've been studying Spidey for years now. Encyclopedias and then actually reading his comics ever since "Civil War." Glad to see all of my studying has paid off in a fellow Spider-Fan saying I know my stuff. Finally! Reading books has its benefits!

"Civil War" was actually what got me back into comics after years of only reading encyclopedias. It was indeed a great story, one that I don't think they've topped yet and may not for some time seeing as how "Secret Invasion" didn't completely take over ever series as it was written the way every issue of Spidey and the other heroes focused solely on "CW." "Dark Reign," however, looks like it might give "CW" a run for its money.

yeah thats true, dark reign was really really good. I suppose what i liked most bout cw was that it was crossing over all marvel comics, not just like spidderman etc. i digged that

Did they do an actual "Dark Reign" yet or are they still just putting that little tag on everybody's issues? I know Marvel likes to do big Summer stories but I didn't think enough time passed for them to start the actual "DR" yet...I should really get back to reading so I can see what's what.
It's nice to see Marvel acknowledge people that aren't the big sellers. Far too often do I see Spider-Man and Wolverine on packages and in every story just because they're popular. Granted, I like those two so it's not too annoying but Marvel's got a lot of other great characters that get overlooked. I'm glad "Civil War" showed how EVERYBODY was affected. Not only did everybody get some screen time, but it emphasized how important the Registration Act was. Another thing I liked about "Civil War" was that it didn't portray one side or the other as the "good guys." Both sides had good arguments and motives, they just disagreed. But what's more, even though they were both justified, the story didn't end with everybody getting what they wanted, one side clearly arose vicotrious and the entire landscape changed instead of things going back to normal.

i think dark reign has been done, as far as im aware. after like issue 600 or something they took off the dark reign tag.
yeah it was real well done how they did the whole thing. It kind of made it kool to choose a side to support because you still knew what was going with the opposite side and you could see there argument. twas just a great story overall haha

I really like stories that show both sides of a conflict. Even if one of those sides is evil, you can typically see one or two good arguments for why they do what they do. "Code Geass" is a good example of that and I hope Marvel does some more dual-sided stories. They did something similar to that when Deadpool crossed over with the Thunderbolts but that was only 4 issues long...still a good story though.

Oh, "Code Geass" isn't a comic or anything related to Marvel. It was an anime. I just mentioned it because it had a war between two big factions but showed the perspectives of characters from both sides not unlike "Civil War" at times.
"Deadpool" and "Thunderbolts" are two of my favorite series right now for completely contrasting reasons. "DP" is outrageously funny and energetic whereas "TB" is very dark, depressing, and cerebral. Aside from "Ghost Rider," they're probably my favorite series right now.
You've read Wolverine's series? Then can you answer me this: is Omega Red truly dead? I read on Wikipedia that he died in an issue of the current Wolverine series but I didn't wanna believe it.

oh i see haha. i havent really read any ghost rider comics actually. ah well the series that ive read isnt like the on going one, it was wolverine origins and i havent read it for a while, so it'll have to be whatever wikipedia says haha

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to spider-mat [2010-01-11 06:56:26 +0000 UTC]
It said it was "Origins" which I guess is his on-going series. But it happened in issue 39 or something so I think that was a while ago. As much as I hate it when Marvel retcons their deaths, I don't want this to be the last of Omega Red. He's a very unique and awesome villain. He's also a nice alternative to Wolverine's many, MANY Weapon X and/or Canadian enemies. And probably one of the few Communist villains I know of.
