Hey man!  Thanks so much for the hugely kind words.  Welcome to DA- it is an amazing place to find inspiration.  Any questions or critiques- don't hesitate to ask!

Hey! Thanks for the welcome.

No thanks necessary, you earned it! Thank _you_ for sharing it! I'm just getting into visual art in my early 30s. Splurged on a tablet for work (I do a little design, typography, photo touchups, etc) and figured it would be fun too... It's totally motivated me more than any traditional mediums have, so now I'm just searching for my physical medium of choice so I can develop some skills alongside the tablet. I find the tablet really easy to work with, but my lack of experience handling brushes and pencils gets to me. I don't suck at making lines on the tablet, I just suck at making lines in general - I can get very similar results out of my line work on the tablet as I can on paper, but I need to learn how to really use the tools themselves properly.

Any advice you can offer on selecting a medium to work with would be appreciated! I use pencils here and there but I get discouraged easily. I really love treating my tablet/Photoshop like paints, though. I think oil will be too hard and messy to work with for a beginner, and water colour too thin. Someone suggest gouache, so I'm looking into that.

Anyway, look at me, I'm rambling now! Hopefully I can continue to add pieces to my DA profile. Between work, kids, study and gaming it can be tough to find time, but I tend to squeeze in 5-10 hours of practice a week.

Really love all of your work on here, they'll be a massive source of inspiration, that's the other hard thing with the tablet, I don't get to get outside and paint real landscapes, and I really do love landscape painting so far.

Keep up the awesome work, I'll always be looking forward to seeing more.
