DF didn't want to loan out the IP to us crazy kids and I can't say I blame them, so no, never came to fruition. The doodles/sample pages though are still available in the same old 6-yr old dump, though , if you want those.

Yes, I've seen those, and they are wonderful. 
It's a shame, though, but understandable. Although I'm certain you would have treated their intellectual property with the utmost respect and not at all degraded it in any way whatsoever!
