just curious-- how long does it usually take you to complete a single animatio?

It depends really. I spend about an hour and a half or so animating each night. Some of the more complex drawings take a lot longer. This for example stevicious.deviantart.com/art/… I worked on for 2 different nights and probably have at least 5 or 6 hours in it.

Well, that's kind of what I'm experimenting with. I don't really "know" what to draw next. I draw what I think the poses should look like, then I draw the breakdown/inbetweens based off of what I want to favor and how fast I want things to move, etc. Check out Inbetweening - Traditional Animation That helped me with some things about traditional work. There are tons of resources about how to animate. But actually animating is the only way to actually learn it. It's very trying and sometimes disappointing to see where my skills are lacking, but it's equally exhilarating to see what happens when things do work or when the drawings actually surprise you.

lol yeah, there really isn't a lot of quality animation on here. I have found a few comic artists that I like and a few people in the animation industry in story and prepro that post sketches and whatnot. You really have to dig for good stuff.

Hey, thanks man. The AM curriculum is pretty great so far, and I sure as hell hope I get a job fast because them debts are serious! I will definitely post more when I get it but I gotta get the time first. When I'm on DA it's usually because I'm procrastinating or I'm at my boring job.
