Original Creation Story
a)Heart-of-Sky needed people to praise him and speak of his name. He created mountains and trees.
b)He created humans out of mud and earth and sticks. Then, he created them out of wood-- the people were eaten by their abused animals.
c)The wooden chips were scattered all around the villages. Heart-of-Sky did not continue to expirement with human design.

The Creation of Hero Twins
a)One day, two boys were causing trouble in a village. The two boys were punished and a Lord thought it would be a good warning if the head of one of two boys was hung from a branch in a tree where everyone would see to warn all of the other people to not make so much noise.
b) There, the head had made such a racket calling for help. The people in surrounding villages thought that the forest was haunted. Therefore, no one went into the forest.
c) A young woman came through the forest. Losing sight of the path, she heard the head magically speak to her. The woman was not sure if it was a real head. She reached out to touch it, and as she did so, the head spat in her hand. The head told the young woman how to get to his grandmotherβs house; This is where she had to go when the child was born.

The Popol Vuh ("Council Book")
a) The Popul Vuh is the Mayan book that is like the Torah or the Bible, containing the Maya civilization's Creation myth followed by the creational tales of the Hero Twins.
b) Some Maya made copies of older heiroglyphic books of the Popul Vuh, but used Latin letters. One was discovered about 1702 by a priest in Guatemala; He made a copy of it while translating it into Spanish.
c) The Mayan heiroglyfic versions of the Popul Vuh have much more detail than the translations of Europeans. It is found in a neglected corner of the University of San Carlos library in Guatemala City. Many other copies can be found in most city and University libraries.

Your latest deviatons (Love in magazines & Love in literature) are pretty good. To be honest, I thought about that (the idea) too but I never worked it out. You did, and you did fine. It's a bit sad that your pictures are so small. But it's okay, keep up.

it is cause i get to play with it...once we dressed as zombies and protested at the new shopping complex they built where i live....really funny...i have some pics somewhere. the police made us go away because we were scaring people, everyone thought we had been in an accident. ended up with a police escort out of the city centre. must have looked really odd...loads of zombies being followed by the police..
