Well... I like them both. It's just it's way too often that they make Naruto all girly in the doujinshi and some fanfics is all... When Narusasu is done right though it's really kind of sweet. Taiyou no Sumika is a really good doujin that's kinda Narusasu. Bah, as long as it's in character it's fine really...

Yeah I root for canon pairings too! Seriously Naruto and Sasuke are really the only pairing I like that's not canon. I usually go for boyXboy pairing in real yaoi where I get a real pairing... So this whole Sasunaru thing is very, very rare for me!

Hmm... That link may or may not be real. I don't think Kishimoto has ever been to a U.S. Con (because he writes a weekly comic he said he hardly has time to get out of his house!) but I don't really know... And truthfully he never really gives anything very important away in interviews and stuff...

I thought Naruto and Sasuke were a canon pairing. Well, you know, as close as a yaoi pairing can get in a Shonen manga.

Same here! Well there HAS been a main character in a shonen that fell in love with another boy. It was adult though and just like 2 episodes near the end... plus the guy died...
