Canards can be tricky. Even on my STI Sedan chop, a few of my friends whom I showed WIPs to mentioned that my canards looked very fake, and photoshopped. Best advice I can think of at the moment is just to think about the light source in the picture, and the sort of shadows canards would cast, how dark would the shadows be, would they be sharp shadows or quite soft, etc etc. On my chop I've also added a faint reflection of the canards visible in the body paint. But yeah, shadows and lighting are the key. If you're looking for decent source images of canards, APR tend to use them fairly often on their cars, ie [link]
