Here's a map idea to consider. The Martian Colony's seen in this game.

Oh wow, I almost forgot about that game! Used to love it as a kid. Good idea for a map, I'll think on it.

I loved it too. The sci fi ones where the best campaigns. I even commissioned a drawing of the Black Robe unit not so long ago.

I check this account every day, I just usually don't have much to say. I want to post a couple maps I have soon, unfortunately both IRL, and then start back on a big QGIS AH map. Nice to see you around!

Hey there!
I absolutely love your maps and their immense amount of details.
May I ask how you do it?
I'd really love to make as beautiful maps as you, but I have no idea how! ;o;
Thanks in advance. ^^

Hello! Thank you for the kind words.
Really, I use a variety of methods that I've had to take years to learn, but I started with a few tutorials. If you search on here, users like upvoteanthology, zalezsky, and Arminius1871 have some great mapmaking tutorials that can help you get started with how to make maps in different programs, from Inkscape to Photoshop to Illustrator. You can also search on platforms like YouTube for general help with these programs, or for other programs that I use, like the free mapping software like QGIS. Tutorials are always useful, but the biggest thing is to just practice and keep practicing and make as many maps as you can, because that's how you get better. For every one I post, I have several more I made for practice. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I did watch Arminius1871's video, it was very informative.
I really hope I'll be able to use Gimp to create a couple of maps on my own, but I fear it may be too difficult, compared to Illustrator and Photoshop, lol.
But I must agree with you, practice makes perfect. ^^
May I ask how you use QGIS to create your maps?
Do you have any software you can recommend?

Sorry to bother you but I had recently finished reading your"Where Hearts Were Entertaining June: An English Brazil" on Alternate history.com you said that due to a disagreement you will discontinue this story there, do you have the rest of it somewhere that is available to read?

Apologies for getting back to this so late, I've been out of town and a bit sick after that, so I haven't been checking up much on my deviantart. For now that's been a bit on hold due to real life job and other priorities, though I do have various projects in the works. I'm just trying to get a good bit finished before publishing instead of doing it in trickles. Sorry about that.

Are you dead? This place is collecting dust as time passes by, tbh.

subspaceteatime In reply to ShahAbbas1571 [2018-04-20 00:47:31 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, yeah, I know. The problem isn't that I'm dead, it's that I'm working on a project that necessitates a lot of maps are released at once and if I started releasing them piecemeal they basically wouldn't make sense and come across as a jumbled mess. I may just make a little side thing quickly to get some views up.
