I will say that from what little I know about Free! I've seen Haru's coach Ryuiji and HE'S the one I would make an OC for, hands down

YES, Ryuiji is so good! Yeah, they decided to tease us by revealing something big then the third season ended there. Honestly, I feel like the big thing about his best friend going to the hospital after an accident would be that his best friend is probably Toraichi (Rin's Dad). Like that was what really made him stop swimming. Oh yeah, you would love him!!!! >W>
