No problem Theresa, you're very talented and inspiring as a photographer. I've just started taking my own first steps into landscape and pet photography as a hobby. Your use of depth and space is very helpful in giving me direction to develop my own style.

Much luck with your pet photography, I did that briefly and made some $$ too. So much fun working with the animals and their owners. A pet lover is generally a wonderful human being...

I agree, people who are good to animal usually have a respect for life overall. Believe it or not, I'm the guy who throws worms back on the grass after it rains. LOL

I believe it, I believe it because I have no reasons not to...flip side, my insane neighbor who since has moved on to another dwelling (thank God for that, and I am not religious) who was planning on suing the city because there were just too many earthworms after each rain and he was not going to tolerate such nasty living conditions. Like I was saying, he was a mother f...er! His crazy bitch wife too...ugh...

Sounds like things got pretty heated, what did this guy do to make you so angry?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

theresahelmer In reply to superorion [2013-08-13 22:14:13 +0000 UTC]

No, I am sorry you misunderstood, I am not angry at him, how can anyone be angry at an asshole? It's a huge waste of my energy. Well...I did get pretty pissed at them when my children played in front of my house and if they were too loud, she would come out and yelled at the children and told them to shut the fuck up!!

Who does that? Children's laughter are precious and are adored by all who are sane...I was so happy when they moved, threw a party as a matter of fact...

I never thought of children's laughter that way, you really have the delicate heart of an artist. I'm going to have to keep that in mind...

I love children, what's not to love anyways, i feel all of us could use their innocences, most of the time, they trust, love, care, laugh, no reasons, just because they are who they are! My children are grown now, my love for them remains equal to back them but accompany now with the understanding and respect that they are indeed adults and have their own lives/decisions to make/disagreements with mom...but no worries, we are very close.

We're having a boy, trying to prepare myself for the first two months of little to no sleep. Any advice on how to survive it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

theresahelmer In reply to superorion [2013-08-14 16:09:46 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I am afraid this is not something you can prepare yourself with (although it is much appreciated). My suggestion is just go with whatever the schedules "offers" you, enjoy the time together, they grow up so fast...sleep when you can, take turns to sleep and etc. I love babies! I used to make them fresh baby food all the time, knitted their sweaters, made Xmas ornaments...fun stuff indeed

Thank you for the comparisons, I am not that old (yet)...I hope you dont mind for me to share this i am sort of known within my circles as "Martha Jr". no i don't mind, I love what she has accomplished for herself, I wish I am as successful one day trying to making a living in photography. I must hold good thoughts and have nothing but positive energy. I am having a conference call with my client tomorrow pm for the upcoming photo shoot, all is working towards what I hope for.

Sorry I am not old enough to be your mom, unless you are a young father! What is your name btw?

Age is just a number theresa, its like the frank sinataraΒ song goes "imagine all you'll derive out of being alive...if you're young at heart"-one of my favs

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

theresahelmer In reply to superorion [2013-08-14 20:01:20 +0000 UTC]

You are indeed correct, age is just a number, it isn't a problem until it becomes a problem, in a relationship particularly. I am comfortable with who I am, however I am acutely aware of my age, because I want to behave in a way that my children are proud of and myself of course. We learn and learn and learn until we pass on, that's what age has taught me! Don't allow age define/restrict anyone from learning new things. I mean look at me, two years in, I am doing professional commercial gigs, not bad eh!

When your little one is here, teach the little one to read as early as you can! Teach the little one right for wrong as early as you can also. And I might be wrong with this one, I am okay that my children knew about the "bad" words and we talked about them early on, they never had the desire to use them because I wasn't fainting each time they did use those words, and I laughed one time when my youngest son dropped a hammer on his toe and he said "ouch"! I said what was that about, I would've said fuck! That hurts!Β

Maybe you will have a different teaching style from me, just remember, only thing they want from you from the moment they are here is love, nothing else! Just love them like you have never loved...

I will, thanks terri (can I call you terri?).Β  Speaking of age, is that black and white photo on your page you as a little girl?

theresahelmer In reply to superorion [2013-08-14 21:21:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that was me when I was not sure when...(I did not grow up with a mom that was in a condition she was able), I would have guessed maybe I was five...ish? Cute, eh!?

Terri?? Maybe for another woman you may call her that, for me, Theresa is already a stretch!! Long story indeed with the name thing...

I sincerely wish you and your wife the best with your little one on the way...it will change your life for the better
