Still busy trying to finish the house, we're nearly there but not quite, I had really hoped we could get in there before Christmas, and I had really hoped we could get in there this weekend but it doesn't look like it will happen. Rather rotten celebrations, didn't even feel like Christmas, the only thing I got was a drawing from a friend here on dA.

I hope - really hope - that we will be able to move in next week - we have to, our internet contract at the other place ends on January 31st!

Our family does celebrate Christmas, but the stress of the house didn't really contribute to the festive feel, and my gran's become too senile to remember that it actually was Christmas, she's still wondering why this summer is so cold (mainly because it's winter).

I don't mind if you rant, that's what friends are for It's sad that she is so stubborn and stuck in her ways, at her age she'll never change, I know, my nan is pretty stubborn and domineering too. Sometimes you just gotta express your anger elsewhere, even if you go outside and smash plates lol, the house will get finished someday and you can settle into your new home. I know it's easier said than done but hang in there
I use facebook a lot, so if you're ever on, I'll try and catch you

Got Skype now as well - at least, the MSN Messenger replacement, haven't got a microphone or so yet, so I can't use it to phone yet.

The problem with her isn't that she's losing her memory, the problem is that she's always been difficult, even when she was by her full mind. For instance, she's never allowed anything to be done about the house, and as a result it's now as derelict as hell. But 'there's nothing wrong with it', even though there's no central heating, and except for the living room, no heating at all.

And she's as domineering as hell, you can't do anything without her either wanting to hold you back, or without her wanting to know what you're doing. Privacy? When she's around, it's something that doesn't exist. Free will? Same thing. If she wasn't so shallow-minded and... well, downright stupid, actually, she'd have made it so much more easy for everybody. She even killed my aunt through her stupidity - "you don't have to go to doctors, they're up to no good" she said - and still says - but because of that my aunt's cancer never got diagnosed in time...

I loved my gran once. But that was a long time ago.
