Amazing stuff, just beginning to learn the ropes. I look at the stuff I made over the past 2 days and think "I can do so much more than that". Gonna take a look at these tutorials tomorrow.

Hey, ive been comparing my pieces to others, and i cant seem to get the vividness in colors or the right textures. Could you take a look and give me some suggestions.

terragen In reply to TwistedX9 [2006-09-18 02:39:15 +0000 UTC]

what size terrains are you using????

your blending of layers is real good!!
the grasses should be built of multi-layer(5 or more)
with differnt shades of green and use of the coverage and noise sliders to make it look more realistic this also applies to your rock surfaces

CaptoAmazo [2006-09-07 23:54:25 +0000 UTC]

k i have a two questions. the first. were abouts
do i find the plug ins i hear so much about???
is there sight that has a bunch of things like that
or do i have to do more searching aroung

and second question

i noticed that lot of the terrains the people have
posted are extremely detailed and look like they
have had extensive hours put in. i ws just
wondering how all these artists put the details in!!?
i dont know if they use the so called brushes on
terragen or if they just import and check over
and over using photoshop?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

terragen In reply to CaptoAmazo [2006-09-09 03:23:34 +0000 UTC]

1,you can find all the plugins for TG at [link] or [link]
(when it comes back online)

2,more than likely the terrains your seeing are either larger sized terrain i.e 2049 or 4097 to have high detail....these terrains are most likely make with a stand-alone terrain generator like worldmachine,geo-control,wilbur or DEM's downloaded from the web and converted into .ter files to be used as TG terrains

hello terragen, recently ive gone back to working with terragen
and ive got the latest version and all the nice plug -ins(well alot of em) but ive been trying to do some more arial views, like i was looking down at a bunch of islands and they looked magnificent, but the sky was a small thin whitish rectangle on the horrizon, it just kinda cut out, it has always done this and i just cant seem to get it to work.

i would have had shown you everything but i had to many things going on my comp (terragen, photoshop, milkshape, firefox) etc. so it crashed before it finished rendering or i saved..

i was just wondering if you knew of a plug in or any way to fix this problem?
