I'm new to sketching, only started in July 2010, so I'm learning primarily from books right now. Recently started exploring digital art as well as traditional - thanks to a lovely gift from my husband - but I've got a long way to go before everything starts to click.I'm an author and editor in chief, co-owner of a small press and RPG company. Recently my time to write has been limited, due to the amount of edits I've been working on for the company, so exploring artwork has also given me a chance to take a break away from the keyboard.

Needs action/movement. You have to think of what the characters would be doing as they speak. Do they growl the words, clench muscles, fists, etc? Speech in itself seldom works without intent and action.
