daww! your pet photos are so cute.

I have a pair of diamond doves (both female--but they like laying eggs nontheless) that I came across at a pet store last summer. I haven't had much success with taming though >.> it's also difficult for me to find an enclosed space where it won't be impossible to catch them when they fly away.

lol. I'm now down to all boys unless Forest or Storm turn out to be girls. I think Storm might be, but they are still squeeping, so it's impossible to know for sure with out a DNA test- which I won't bother with. lol.
Turpentine (I have no idea, but it stuck) may be male or female, but he will probably also fly home once his wing heals up. ...I don't have any photos of him up yet! I need to, he's a beautiful bird.

aw what happened to your other boy(s)?
i thought there was some way to tell by their feather coloration, i guess i was wrong!!! which i mean... i kind of obviously was... i thought my pigeon was a boy for nearly 2 years because she had those shiny feathers on her neck (i thought only boys had those hah), then she laid eggs!

I only had one girl- Cleopatra. She and Caesar (her mate) were both killed by our dogs. Well... they were caught and plucked, and humane euthanasia was the only really viable option. I thought that Cleopatra could have been saved, but the vet disagreed. I fear Caesar became depressed, and possibly even a little ill after her death, so the dogs were able to get him too. I miss them both. The rest- including Storm and Forest are flying well and strongly, and seem to know to avoid the dogs.

aw that's so sad!!! i would be heartbroken if my pigeon got killed by my dog... or anything.
i saw a picture of ceasar and he was beautiful... and really fluffy D: it really made me want a fluffy boyfriend for my pigeon. haha.
