Holy mountain oysters! I just realized something awesome. What if the fan service in kill la kill is a meta commentary on people who watch fan service shows. How you shouldn't be ashamed and try to hide the fact that you like it, but also not be completely without shame either, like the chick from ep4. I mean, we heard the "empowerment" thingy countless times already, but my take can also hold some water.

That makes a lot of sense. When kill la kill first came out everybody seemed to be embarrassed to talk about it saying things like "it's a show about girls fighting in barley any clothes, b-but there's totally a reason behind it I'm not just watching for the fan service". It made feel uncomfortable talking about anime and fan service as a whole.
