Hi! Still on XP. (I know, I am stubborn as hell).
I have a new hobby since 2014. Mountain biking. But I would call it off-road biking since there are no mountains here. Well, not exactly true. There is a small mountain near here. (Tokaj is about 30 km from here) Anyway, my subject of customizing is the BIKE now. Even have a page for that. (deviantrider.co.nf - but only in Hungarian language)
Sooner or later I will have to use win7 or win "X" . And I guess I will be customizing again. But not in the summer that is for sure. So there is hope.

Same here, sort of, running Posready2009. Had a quite a scare when went looking for some UI hack on VP and found the site down, and archive.org didn't have a copy. Could you change the robots.txt on VP so archive.org could index it as VP is quite an important part of the Windows and modding history.

I can't connect to VP server for a long time now. It seems that main VP site also has some issues with the site. (i.e. message board) As far as I know the VP server is running a new php engine and the old VP codes have problems with the new php version. :/

Sir, i tried reshacking the add/remove program to that one of yours but failed i just never see any changes, i reshack the same file "xpsp2res.dll" any tips? do you mind if you can share your file?

Hey Des, sorry to bother you again, but these tooltips are driving me insane. I've tried disabling Registry Entries in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\. . .]: EnableBalloonTips, ShowInfoTip, NoSMBalloonTip, ect.
The whole problem started after I changed a few bitmaps in shell32.dll

Hi.
As far as i know there is no easy way to eliminate all the tooltips in windows. (the truth is i never tried it though) Especially on the taskbar / start menu. But you can in explorer file view.
Open a folder, in the menubar > tools, Folder Options then View tab. Uncheck "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items" option. This works well. I just tried it.
As for the taskbar. Maybe a reshack in shell32. But no idea. I will try something in the next couple of days, but no guarantee.

I'm hoping you can help me with three issues.
1. Removing the mouse-over tooltips on items on the taskbar.
2. Changing the font size of the ms shell dlg fonts.
3. And thirdly (not as important), the popup descriptions when the icon file name is cutoff.

Hi.
1. Tweak UI > Under the Taskbar and Start menu, uncheck Enable balloon tips.
2. That's only possible with resizing / rescaling the font used in shell or hack EVERY dll and exe. (the shell is using 8 pt font size) So the easy way to do it is to hack the font. For that you need a font editor. But you know what? here it is: [link]
3. ? if step 1 doesn't solve this then i don't know. maybe it is possible but I've never tried it.

Well. There is a mosquito from google images, + there is an "orange peel picture" (white light behind the orange peel) that i took earlier. (i think i have it on my gallery somewhere). Everything else is different fonts + effects.

You need to edit the visual style. Both the ini file and the bitmaps if needed. I don't know if it can be thicker/bigger than the original luna style's window border though.

i can not guarantee the perfect look using any fonts in the ui. i designed everything to fit my windows iconless design using standard 07_55 (it is like haxrcorp) font in the ui.
btw i am not done yet. still have to fine tune things.

i already have a taskbar button icon remover hack. it is on my page. requires hexediting.
but i couldn't find out how to remove the caption icon yet. i had a clue but no success yet.
