Duddde I went to that bullshit fanart about Ichigo not chosing Rukia only because he shouldn't have been happy, you definitely killed them. Lol. I agreed with everything you said. Only difference is I ship Naruhina while you ship NaruSaku which is totally fine. I just hate immature fans which are in every ship, mine, yours. There are always ones who think just because the ship didn't happen the whole manga is ruined then there are some who perfered the other ship but are happy the main persons happy. But yep, it was amazing!!

NH-related, be it PRO or ANTI.
I rarely comment on NS devs that don't mention NH - mostly cause I merely use a 'naruhina' SEARCH.

Honestly though, the search in deviantart sucks - if someone just uses a phrase in the description it shows up in the search section. They really need to fix that.

Since amanda is so AFRAID of my comments that she HAD to BLOCK me (which is of course a MATURE action, though dunno in which fantasy land)...
Now answering YOU:
I was referring to him thinking of how she tried saving him at Pain.
IF Hinata was MERELY a "weird girl he doesn't care much about", Naruto wouldn't go into such deep trouble of reassuring her of being strong.
So he definitely CARES.
What's more important, he even admits of being WEAK to her (essentially saying that SHE is STRONGER, DUE to "saving him twice already" [link] ) - a feat he NEVER EVER did with Sakura.
But you can keep your delusions, it's your choice.

I never said he doesn't care for Hinata, I said it doesn't mean he's in love with her. Naruto cares about all of his friends and Hinata is a friend before any romance is involved. You don't think he'd reassure his other friends? He might do it differently due to different personalities, but he'd reassure all of his friends. He's had no reason to do so with Sakura. The problem that your using "proof" with situations that can be contexted to friendship and there isn't a similar situation to compare it to.
This is naturally true for NaruSaku as well. All your proof is a moment for a so-far one sided romance...just like with NaruSaku on Naruto's side and SasuSaku on Sakura's side.
The real problem I have with it is that all romance in Naruto has been blunt and obvious. The romance is too "subtle" to necessarily be considered actual romance or to be taken as such. It's a hint he acknowledges Hinata, but not that he has feelings for her just as much as Sakura offering to feed Naruto ramen was proof that she's grown to seriously care for Naruto, but that doesn't mean she's in love with him.

Oops, didn't read till the end.
So, one more thing:
What is LOVE???
For me, it's a combination of caring, sharing, mutuality and personality acceptance - and MORE.
I don't believe in ROMANCE - I believe in FAMILY.
And family is much MORE than just romantic feelings - or at least it's more than what too many people THINK means to have romantic feelings.
For me, husband and wife must truly learn to become ONE in soul and body - and I mean that in the sense of feeling incomplete without each other.
And for that, they obviously need to know, accept and acknowledge each other.
Which is what Naruto started doing for Hinata, while he never received it from Sakura.
In fact, 469 shows that she tried doing the opposite - manipulating his feelings (regardless for whatever reasons).
A true love implies that one's feelings must always take into consideration those of the other half - and guess what, when had Hinata FORCED/TRICKED Naruto into anything???
Sakura obviously had, like I just said.
But Hinata kept standing on the side, letting him deal with his feelings himself.
She wasn't even upset when Sakura hugged Naruto - not cause she didn't love him or thought that she lost, but rather cause she was HAPPY that someone else ACKNOWLEDGED him, and she KNEW how important it was for Naruto.
She DIDN'T react as a typically-jealous girl-in-love WOULD react - cause she felt that Naruto's feelings of being accepted were more important than her feelings of getting a chance with him.
IF Sakura actually went 180 and fe in TRUE love with Naruto - Hinata would've cried a lot, but would NOT interfere with Naruto's feelings, cause she new of his feelings towards Sakura.
It's only Sakura's own fault that she screw it up - not that she WANTED it otherwise, to be honest.
She still loves Sasuke, so she can only be a FRIEND with Naruto.

thesage2600 In reply to Koshej [2013-03-29 18:37:03 +0000 UTC]
Sakura is actually one of the very first to acknowledge Naruto, back in the Chunin Exams in fact. Hell, even Hinata did not think Naruto would win against Kiba, so no, Sakura acknowledged and loudly cheered for Naruto. Also, listen to her plea about bringing Sasuke back, it is acknowledging him. Acknowledgment is not an issue with Naruto and Sakura.
Also, I think you're being a bit unfair with the "manipulating Naruto" thing, just like everyone else. Sakura made a bad choice, BUT she was doing it so Naruto could get what he wanted (her) and she could spare him of his promise. The entire confession was to save Naruto's life and try to give him happiness because all she thinks she's capable of doing is bringing him pain. As wrong as it is, Sakura is trying to muddle through her problems and deal with Naruto's large ones while being told she is causing a lot of them; also, what would Hinata have done anyway? Would she have told Naruto that everyone, including her, decided to give up on saving Sasuke and kill him instead? What do you think Hinata would have done ("and, not that" is not a proper answer)?

I can agree with your first point - I watched it way too long ago.
But I'm not AS sure about Sakura's MAIN reason of doing what she did.
She definitely HAD Sasuke in mind, even if she also wanted Naruto to be safe.
Anyways, I meant that her "bad move" WAS planned out from before, so she didn't do it spontaneously, and therefore it can be considered manipulating Naruto's feelings to get A result, even if that result is for his own benefit.
Still, she UNNECESSARILY hurt his feelings by blatantly LYING, while she COULD have used better ways to tell him the same message of "be careful and stop chaising that emo idiot".
As of Hinata - we simply don't know.
But definitely wouldn't LIE...
It's not how she acts in-character.
(I'm not calling Sakura an in-character liar. I'm just saying that she simply did so, while we have no precedent to assume Hinata would also do it. Or do we?)

thesage2600 In reply to Koshej [2013-03-31 01:31:30 +0000 UTC]
Sometimes, people manipulate others to save the lives and feelings of others. They are generally not happy about doing so and usually regret it, but it's wrong to treat everyone who manipulates as a bad person. Also, I can't really say Sakura was thinking too much about Sasuke other than mercy killing him because she loves him, and she wouldn't let Naruto do it because she didn't want Naruto to have to do it. That entire confession was for Naruto's sake and truly only his; she was willing to crush herself with guilt and unhappiness for Naruto. You understand that, right?
Also, Sakura's whole confession was trying to spare Naruto's feelings; hell, her confession was meant to try and bring him happiness. It backfired on her, but the intention was obvious.
Again, what would Hinata do? I doubt Hinata would actually be able to do anything except plea and be shot down by Naruto. I seriously doubt she would be able to say, "All of your friends and me have decided that Sasuke is our problem, and we are going to resolve it by killing him. We have given up on him coming back to the village. You're all right with that, right?" Sakura's actions was because she believed it would surely spare Naruto more hurt and ensure his safety. She knew better than anyone how Naruto is with Sasuke.

Koshej In reply to thesage2600 [2013-03-31 07:04:19 +0000 UTC]
Sakura's main problem is that she COULD do it without involving LOVE FEELINGS.
She could try and appeal to Naruto as a FRIEND (and she knows he'd accept that too, cause they ARE friends), or maybe even think of something else, can't tell exactly.
Anyways, she DID hurt him by underestimating his feeling-awareness, which backfired and made him hurt through realizing she not only doesn't love him, but even tried using his love to get something from him (EVEN if it's for his benefit, it STILL hurts).
Again, it's NOT like she had NO other alternatives (than to involve HIS LOVE), really.
Look, since he accepted her request to "get Sasuke back" - why not try a new version: "I care too much about your safety, Sasuke is too dangerous, PLEASE, PROMISE me to NOT go after him anymore" - which shows genuine concern and requests for the same thing, yet it DOESN'T involve LIES and FEELINGS.
And since Naruto declined it EITHER way, so AT LEAST he wouldn't get HURT emotionally.
But I'm happy she did so - so he now had the trigger to rethink his true feelings.

thesage2600 In reply to Koshej [2013-03-31 09:56:43 +0000 UTC]
The fact was, Sakura was told Naruto loved her and it is this love along with promise that helps to push him forward (this was false, his brotherly feelings really push him forward), so she tried to give him that love and relieve him of the promise so he would be freed. Furthermore, a lover in a strange sense would put Sakura on the same level of care as Sasuke's brother mantle while a friend wouldn't. After all, who is a person more likely to listen to, their friend or the significant other?
Also, you're again having her plea, a plea Naruto is most likely going to ignore the same way he ignored Jiraiya. If what she believed to be true, Naruto would have left with her back to the village. And, see that's where you're problem is, part of the issue is that you are leaving the choice to Naruto, but the point was to remove the choice; it would remove the decision from Naruto, a 100% guarantee. Unfortunately, plans are never 100% and Sakura had allowed the pain she felt for causing Naruto pain to cloud her judgement.
And, just to make something clear, even after the confession, Naruto already knew Sakura's feelings and Sai explained the reasoning and there has been zero hints of awkwardness with Sakura since the incident. His relationship with Sakura is the same.

I'd agree with you, IF it wasn't all a part of the PLOT.
Like, WHY would Kishi constantly (seriously, more than once, starting with Exams and ending with Tobito) throw in Naruto and HINATA interaction, while he haven't such interaction with ANYONE else?
He DOESN'T have similar moments with ANY other Rookie - while some of them COULD use a moment like that for sure.
Like Shino, where Naruto would ensure him that he's NOT freaked out by his bugs (and even refer to Kyuubi for WHY), or saying how Tenten is a really capable kunoichi (cause she IS), or even once complimenting Ino's looks (she IS beautiful, yet Naruto never mentions it, even friendly), or anything else that might come up.
But NO - Naruto ONLY has such deep and meaningful interactions with Hinata (and Sasuke), not even with Sakura (or I don't recall it).
Anyways, Sasuke and Sakura are his teammates, but Hinata ISN'T - so WHY would Kishi keep bringing HER up (especially recently, going as far as putting a Naruto/Hinata VOLUME COVER), IF it has no deeper long-term meanings???
Aha..!
And NO - "trolling" is a no-answer, until confirmed otherwise.

I normally don't say this, but...It's a fan favorite thing with Hinata. It's been acknowledged that Hinata has an insane level of popularity and that has caused her to appear more (especially since her popularity sky rocketed after her confession). The same thing happened to Shikamaru. While this may now seriously affect the story, it could also mean that Kishi's original plan was overrun by this; case and point is how very little Hinata appeared originally only to suddenly start becoming a regular.

Koshej In reply to thesage2600 [2013-03-30 19:26:11 +0000 UTC]
Um, I did say SINCE Exams...
I don't think she was popular back then.
Still, it's HINATA who gets rooted and avenged by Naruto, it's HINATA who encourages him before his fight with Neji, it's HINATA that he thinks about after he wins...
The encouragement would be perfectly done by SAKURA (or someone like IRUKA) - but it WASN'T, it was HINATA.
So?

thesage2600 In reply to Koshej [2013-03-31 00:33:05 +0000 UTC]
It was Sakura who openly and loudly cheered for Naruto, and Naruto also thought about Lee during his fight with Neji. Yes, Hinata encouraged him before his fight with Neji, but again, it really wouldn't make sense plot wise for anyone except really Hinata or Lee to encourage him and Hinata knows him better. It's true that Sakura or Iruka could have done it easily, but it wouldn't make as much sense plot wise for them to do it.
When I say plot wise, it means that it invokes a stronger emotion out of the reader to see the ones wronged by said character (in this case Neji) to encourage him.

Koshej In reply to thesage2600 [2013-03-31 01:08:09 +0000 UTC]
One more much more important thing:
Hinata is (I think, correct me by chapters, if wrong) the only character that Naruto spoke about HIS weakness, first before Neji (and then she encouraged him) and again during Zetsu (and then he encouraged her by thanking for saving him previously).
I don't remember him EVER saying to Sakura anything like "I'm afraid" or "I had to be rescued by someone" (especially her) or similar - he always is brave and cheerful with her and others.
This could symbolize that he feels safe enough around Hinata to show his true (negative) feelings at that moment, but not with Sakura.
Again, I don't recall such a moment with Sakura.
π: 0 β©: 1
thesage2600 In reply to Koshej [2013-03-31 01:46:06 +0000 UTC]
I'll give you that one, but then it could also be said that he and Hinata are such distant friends he doesn't feel the need to put up a tough front. I mean even Iruka only saw Naruto break down once and it took Jiraiya's death to do it; unless of course you want to say that he's more comfortable around Hinata than Iruka. Also, Sakura's never actually shown her weakness like Hinata too because she wants to be strong for him (look at after the Fourth Tail thing, she was all sad until he woke up and tried to brush it off). The only couple of times she's actually broken down in front of him, it's not something he admitting his weakness to would help.
Oh and I don't know if you're a guy or not (I am), but most guys are more likely to put up a tough front in front of the people they care about then to actually admit weakness...Especially the girl they like. Most guys seriously avoid showing or admitting their weaknesses, wanting to be strong for others.

Koshej In reply to thesage2600 [2013-03-31 07:14:53 +0000 UTC]
Sorry???
Did he EVER do so with ANYONE else - be it CLOSE friends (like Iruka) or DISTANT friends (like Kiba)???
Or ANYONE else AT ALL???
And I'm talking about him SAYING this out clear.
Oh, and WHOM else did he thank for SAVING HIM (may be Iruka, but I'm not sure - anyways, Iruka is not Sakura)?
And you're getting my point wrong - we all know Naruto has a "I'm always strong and cheerful" mask, which he almost ever takes off.
Now, when he DOES - it must be significant and kinda points at a link between those people, cause it's like they see "the true him", not his MASK.
When did he show "his true self" to Sakura - chapter please?
Yes, let's narrow it down to GIRLS (and/or FRIENDS), cause Iruka is more like his father/brother - aka FAMILY, which is a bit of a different standard.
Yup, manly man without a mane.
Read above - exactly DUE to "always being tough", when he shows he's NOT - it's actually a matter of TRUST.
And what you suggested, ISN'T an entirely HONEST behavior, especially in such a dangerous WORLD like Narutoverse.
And we know that Naruto MUST be honest with those he CARES about in-character.
π: 0 β©: 1
thesage2600 In reply to Koshej [2013-03-31 09:42:12 +0000 UTC]
He did in fact show weakness in front of Sakura after they failed to get Sasuke back in Part II for the first time. Oh and he showed his weakness to Shikamaru after Jiraiya's death after crying in front of Iruka.
I think you are putting too much into him thanking Hinata for saving him, no one usually saves Naruto in a significant manner. Naruto does the saving, so it can't actually be compared to anything (in canon at least).
And, Naruto's tough guy mask is bravado and cockiness and overt stupidity. When Naruto loses those traits, the mask is off (unless he's smiling with his eyes closed, his smiles are meant to be real...unless he's loud with them too). Naruto does genuinely smile with Sakura (such as after he was healed by Sakura after Rasenshuriken) and he shows a full range of emotions besides happiness.
It's also not always a matter of trust to show true self, if a person is not considered important enough people tend to not care about the mask. Although, I think at this point, in Naruto's case, it's that he's been accepted that his mask has slowly fallen away. He does not hide himself nearly as much the more time passes. And, no, it is honest typical male behavior to put up a tough front and a society like Naruto's encourages this. Oh and Naruto isn't always honest with those he cares about.
