# About me

My name is Ashley.
I think, for the most part, I am your every day teenager who wants to be unbound from all of the restrictions and censuring placed on myself by all of the people around me. I want to travel physically and mentally; I desire to be elsewhere, and discovering more and more each day, rather than being tied to my home and being impressed with silly assumptions we find in small-town Texas. The things I do, the things I say, the things I feel and the things I think always seem much more different than the average person - and I have been reassured more than once by my peers and my elders that I am not exactly a normal girl. But everyone says that about themselves, don't they?
I have my faults - I am the first person you will meet who is entirely embarrassed of their self, and that is one of the biggest reasons why I am part of this community.. I force myself to let other people see this other side of me. No, I am not a completely shy girl who does not think about anything - far from it. When I'm with myself, when I'm making art, when I feel like I am free, I become a very complicated and open person. I wish to have more opportunities to be this person, rather than the disguise I have to wear all of the time. But there is only so much you can do when you have a thousand expectations to meet, isn't there?
