The design retains the basic look of Manta, adds some actual practicality to the helmet (eye holes where they should be as well at the distinct red upper eyes). I feel his costume has been something of a fail in the comic book world, even if its classic.

Sometimes, even classic designs could use some refreshing takes. And this is one. Keep up the good work!

Thanks - I was actively looking for characters that could use a good once over in terms of design. Black Manta was odd in that his origin for a long time was almost non existent.

Hm. I don't honestly know anything about Black Manta beyond...he hates Aquaman, he's a man of color (a bit racist there) and that the Aqualad from Young Justice/New 52 is his son. To WIKIPEDIA! :-) (Smile)
