Hm, well I don't really know how I can teach you. Eumh, well, at the beginning I used to draw already-excisting-pictures from series, like the legend of zelda. I learned a lot about techniques that way because you want to let it look just like that picture. You learn to look at details and stuff. After that you can start to work on your own characters. But I don't know how you always begin with a drawing? (the best thing is to draw sketches and after that you can start with the face, hair and clothing)

I've just started this new thing where I draw jointlines and stuff and it works pretty well.
