I'm an aspiring comic book creator, so I wanted to make a fan-comic to get my name out there, and Blue has always been my favorite character in Pokémon, so I wanted to do a story around him, and I figured a twist on the narratively simple Kanto games would give me room to be creative while still appealing to those who enjoyed the old games.
As far as Leaf goes, I was going to base her design on her Fire Red/Leaf Green design, but I found it to be a little too simple, so I took inspiration from some "Alolan Leaf" fan art I've seen to spice it up a bit. Since she didn't have really any role in the old Kanto games, I figured I could take some liberties on her design and character without offending too many people.

Oh okay then. I understand where you are coming from. I'm just used to using the canon designs of Leaf because that's what the character suppost to resemble. I just Game Freak would acknowledge her. Also, Leaf dosen't talk like a girl her age. Just saying.

As for Blue, in my opinion, I never thought much about him. He's just a jerk and had not much character besides that. Then again, I never liked jerks in Pokemon anyway. But, it's just personal opinion. I always liked Red because of his design and him being the kanto/johto champion. Red is just my favorite character.

I read the electric tale or Pikachu and the adventures series (up to BW arc) and the first chapter Reburst.

I have a personally hatred for Dawn, I found her annoying, she never said anything that someone else hadn't said 2 minute prior, her appeals in contest grew dull very quickly, the fact that she made it to the semi finals of her first grad-festival beating out co-coordinators who were better than her (Nando and Kenny) with her tired techniques annoyed me so much. It never seemed like she tried but still managed to do amazingly well.

IRIS! She's worse than Dawn. "You're such a kid." Yeah. At least Dawn didn't say that every 5 minutes. And she just happen to catch a dragonite fully evolved with the elemental punches....how does that happen?

Um.. and Team Rocket Trio. Not because they're comic villains. It's just that they are not a threat and they always have the team rocket logo on everything despite being original characters. Especially in one episode when they took over Giovanni's role as the gym leader. I wanted Ash to fight Giovanni one on one.

Lastly, anyone who knocks Ash out the tournament. Its like all that build up for Ash to win a league and its pointless. Special mentioning goes to the guy with 2 legendaries and Cameron, who made BW Ash look smart.

I didn't mind Iris too much, the "you're such a kid" was more a showing of Iris's childishness than Ash's (especially on multiply occasions Ash shows he is the more mature). BW main problem was with the writers giving almost everyone a catch phrase it quickly grew tiresome and put a lot of people off the season. I knew Iris was going to get a strong fully evolved dragon, because they gave Dawn a strong fully evolved pokemon, the writer have gotten good at avoiding real development  and just slapping them with a power up at will (I'm not seeing this in XY, but it's not like Serena need power when her profession is to look pretty).

I love TR, the 3 of them are just too love-able of characters to hate. I do agree them taking Giovanni's role for Ash's battle did suck, but lets face it, Giovanni's  would have used Mewtwo and Ash wouldn't have entered the league on time on time (plus I liked the whole "the trainers feel the pain of the pokemon thing" I would like to see that make a come back somehow). I don;t understand "they always have the team rocket logo on everything despite being original characters" they are still tied to the team rocket name and "R" links them back to Grunt uniforms in the games, it just seem natural to slap it on to the robots to (given the anime's target audience).

I think it's a little petty to hate someone for beating Ash (someone has to, he can't win everything)
The guy with Darkrai can suck a fuck, I swear he was only used because they ran out of time for the league because of Dawn's BS.
I liked Cameron, it was nice to see a different type of trainer doing well (I really have no idea why they introduced the Eevee trainer, he was very dull).

Ash wasn't very mature in BW. He didn't know how to catch a pokemon in the first episode in BW, despite him defeating his rival and 2 legendaries. Also Iris saying "You're such a kid" doesn't help the audience relate the main characters. Saying you're such a kid doesn't make me want to like Iris.
I was exaggeration when I meant hate. I mean I dislike when Ash loses at a major league tournament because aside from orange islands, he has never won a major pokemon league.  

But that feels like the writers are cheating a video game adaption just because the team rocket characters are liked so much. What I mean is someone just created original characters and just slapped the Team rocket logo on them. They didn't originate from the games as team rocket grunts at first is what i am saying.  
Not to mention sometimes when ash has a gym battle, TR are interrupting the battle. Also, TR has more focus and character development on them than the protagonist of the anime. And the TR from the games aren't relevant anymore.

Plus, Giovanni is a GROUND type gym leader. How does he think it is right by using Mewtwo to begin with? Aren't gym leaders restricted to the rules given to them, regardless if he's the Boss of TR or not? I don't remember the pokemon league having a time limit to enter as long as you had 8 badges or apparently 10 badges. (Gary Oak) 

Oh and the guy with the Darkrai had nothing to do with Dawn. The writers just made him up just so Ash would lost. Seriously, Who comes to the Pokemon League with 2 legionaries. They didn't try to explain HOW he obtained them. Cameron had less pokemon than Ash and he still won just because his Riolu evolved. And then he lost to an eevee trainer.

Ash was rather mature in BW, telling Iris that there is nothing wrong with crying, understanding Tepig's feelings of abandonment etc, he won;t always be mature he is ten and still learning. the example you gave isn't immaturity, it was impulse and dumb (2 of Ash's main qualities).

Ah I see what you main. I can get that in the long run to have Jessie and James be stand alone villains would have been better, but they were made a part of team rocket because of how big the games were and everyone would know they were the bad guys. Plus the anime was only set to air for one season, so they didn't plan for Jess and James to still be around when other teams appeared.

Giovanni captures, abuses and sells pokemon and I don't think he care for official pokemon gym rules.
In the first season when Ash gets all 8 badges and head back to Pallet Oak tell them he has 2 months before this years league begins. If Ash couldn't get the Earth badge he could have missed his chance to enter the league that year and have to wait until the next one.

When they are writing the anime they have to decide how to best space out plot points and key episodes, they only have so many episodes to work with so the more time that is dedicated to a contest goer, means less time for the plot a gym battler.
Each of Dawn's contest based Episode took away Ash's gym battler episodes in the end to me it felt like they had to rush the end of DP because BW were coming out and they didn't plan well enough (also I hated how Brock was almost completely ignored).
People go to the league with legionaries to win, there doesn't seem to be a rule against it, I'm sure if this guy had a backstory people wouldn't be as mad about it but they didn't plan for him to there until the end when they had no left to do anything good.
