I just recently found your artwork. My boyfriend had accidentally sent me the link to an external forum and I decided to check it out anyways, I saw many of your pieces on this forum and absolutely love them. Then someone posted your link for deviantART and had to check out the rest of your work. I'm not so much an artist myself but must said that I do very much appreciate looking at your work. I would love it if I could have your permission to save a piece or two or few and have a print made of them so that I could display them upon the walls in my home.

I've just gotten back into drawing after a hiatus of a few months. I want to draw people more than anything right now but my perspective is horrible and things tend to become out of proportion. Do you have any advice? I know practice is the only way to get better but there has to be some sort of fundemental basis for it all.

sure. what I did to get better at drawing the figure was first to get more aquainted with it. Life drawing is good for this, I was fortunate enough to have an art studio that was happy to indulge me in this step. Life drawing helps to see how the body is put together. how all the joints and muscles bend and build the figure.
After this step I began furiously drawing from life both in Life drawing and in coffee shops and on the street and what. Go fast. Make undefinable scribbles. Give yourself time limits per figure (1,2,5 min each). If you are under the clock you tend to rely on the subject itself rather than how you think the subject should look.
One theory I heard.. and mabey its shit, but still worth munching.. is that our heads are full of symbols for the way things should look. these can be accurate or slanted. when we draw from life we are slowly trading the symbols in our heads for more accurate ones based off this practice of intence observation.
Proportion follows the same rules.
Or mabey it dosnt, but this worked out alright for me..

I was raised Christian, so everything I judge is though that tinted lense.. but I believe that if any God creates something with freewill and then judges it - the God is evil.
I am also certain that God is not perfect, like us he is subject to hatred, jealousy, spite, indifference. I believe he shares all of mans imperfections while claiming ethical perfection and even going as far as to claim to have created morality itself.
I think that giving us an option between heaven with himself or hell is much too simple of judgment, I want to have had a choice to be made in the first place.
I could go for miles.
