Excuse me, I heard you made a Shinjuro Yuki cosplay for a friend. Do you mind telling me the materials you used and how you made it? Me and my friend are trying to cosplay people from UN-GO but I have no idea how to start on Shinjuro's jacket and polo and we are planning to do this cosplay for AX which is in the end of this month. Hopefully I'll hear from you soon!

Sure thing! The jacket is made out of gray wrinklease(a type of narrow twill) and white twill.

I used about 1 3/4 for the white and about 2/3 of a yard for the gray.
The polo I made out of black interlock with a cranberry/dark red rib knit.

The leaves are partially painted and partially iron transferred on.
For the polo, I made my own pattern, but if you're not comfortable doing that you could try this:

However, I'd definitely look in pattern books or sites(simplicity.com, butterick.com, mccallpattern.com, etc) to get an actual paper one in your size first.
Sometimes patterns are as cheap as $1.99 or 99 cents and that would be the time to buy them.
For the jacket, since I made it for a guy who is about 6'5ish(lol), I used a men's costume jacket pattern, marked for the gray and then cut the white with the altered pattern. Then I sewed the gray to the white. Since Shinjuro doesn't have true raglan sleeves(he has a visible line where the seam of the sleeve meets the shoulder), I'd recommend using a pattern that has regular sleeves.
I also lined his jacket but that was at his request. You don't necessarily have to line yours.

After reading all this, I feel pretty whelmed. You made everything from scratch?! That's crazy! I thought you bought like a white jacket and a black polo and just sewed on the other colors on top or something... This is actually my first time sewing with a machine so I'm really new to this. But you are just amazing! Hopefully I can make it as good as yours.

You're welcome! It really isn't too difficult. If you're super new to sewing, I'd recommend looking up how to install a zipper though. The package contains directions but the bigger ones don't(make sure to get a zipper that says separating! The ones that don't specify are the ones you put in dresses or pants!). Youtube has a few good videos of how to insert them.
